Highly recommend this presidential library for its historical artifacts, especially the chance to tour the interior of AF One.
We visited the day after touring the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. This was certainly on a smaller scale, but I have to say I may have even enjoyed it more. The Library was a tribute to his presidency. This museum was a glimpse of him as a person. We visited with two older teenagers who also enjoyed it.... More
I have wanted to see this for sometime. Every time I visited the museum they were closed. Even Saturday they were closed. This is just crazy. A lot of us really, really respect Pres. Reagan and wanted to experience this museum. You can blame me for not checking the hours but they are much too limited. I can't believe they... More
Information on this museum indicates the focus is on Regan and Rancho del Cielo, his home near Santa Barbara. While the museum is interesting, I would have enjoyed more pictures and stories about the home itself. The docents were very informative but some of them do tend to insert politics a bit too much into their presentation. One of the... More
I enjoyed seeing the jeep from the ranch. There are letters that he wrote that are interesting too. Only open 1 day a week.
We had not even heard of this museum until we read about it on Trip Advisor. What a nice surprise - it ended up being the highlight of our stay in Santa Barbara. This museum is very well done and is conveniently located downtown. There are fascinating relics from Ronald and Nancy Reagan's life at their beloved ranch, such as... More
Nothing special; a little dry and boring. The staff were very nice and knowledgeable, but the exhibit wasn't all that interesting.
We were walking down State Street when we spotted the Reagan Ranch Center (I'd read about it prior to our trip and had jotted it down as an idea to explore if we had time). We didn't have much time, but we went in anyway and were met by a friendly docent. The docent took us through the main exhibits... More
A visit to the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara is a must see! The Center is free of charge and centrally located in Santa Barbara. The museum is well laid out and has many interesting exhibits that bring you back in time when Ronald Reagan was President. Although it is not overly large, it is a 2 story facility... More
No more dry dull museums. This one is full of mementos of Reagan and feels like you are reliving his time. The piece of the Berlin wall was a real plus for me as I spent time in Germany when the wall and borders were armed and dangerous.Made me realize what changes I have seen in my lifetime
