We have been waiting for our youngest child to be old enough to join the CIO's Coves and Caves adventure. Well worth the wait! Our guide, Ben, was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and interesting, with a great itinerary. Extra shout-out for the chef who created our lunch. He actually called us the day before to confirm our sandwich orders so that... More

We wanted to paddle around the marina for an hour, and CIO (under the title of Paddle Sports Center) did the trick. Helpful personnel, equipment in good order, and a reasonable price. I can't really credit them with the beautiful weather, but that also made it an enjoyable experience!

While planning a trip for a group of 25, I discovered CIO's website which is awesome. I contacted them to see if they could meet the needs of my group. After talking with Matt, I realized that CIO sounded perfect, but could they actually deliver what they promise??? Well, they did and more!!! Their guides were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic... I've been kayaking with these CIO three different times over the years (Caves and Coves, Potato Harbor and the Painted Cave trips). All have been terrific experiences. They are incredibly friendly, knowledgable and safe. Santa Cruz Island is gorgeous to explore from land and sea. I recommend Channel Island Outfitters highly. . . nice people and they do a great... From pre-booking emails to the ferry ride back to Ventura CIO is top notch. My story? Three of us were on our way to celebrate one of us turning 50. The ferry ride was a bouncy one (lots of wind that day) and I didn't make the trip out to the island with my breakfast still in tact, But the... More

Fantastic! Mike showed us all sorts of interesting caves and blowholes along the coast, and got us safely through the Marge Simpson keyhole. From sea lions to cormorants to foxes, he shared lots of fascinating info about the history, geology and ecology of the island. We're experienced kayakers, but haven't spent much time on the ocean. Mike assessed our skill... More

We experienced the Caves and Coves Classic Adventure in March. I would never, ever, NEVER even consider a kayak adventure from anyone but Channel Islands Outfitters. Why? Because CIO is so great at everything they do that it would be foolish to book with any of the other companies. Making the reservation is easy (online or by telephone). They email... More

Kayaking the channel Islands is an amazing experience. Mike is an easy going, competent, knowledgeable guide. We all felt safe, had a lot of fun, and learned a great deal from his expertise. Thank you Mike for making it a very memorable trip right to the end when you helped us retrieve the keys locked in our car.

What a beautiful afternoon we just spend lazily kayaking around the harbor, out to see seals, under Stearns Wharf and back to be greeted by Stephanie, who head helped us in and then, an hour later, out of the water. She was very good with words to explain how to do things, making the procedure very simple. I would recommend... More
