A really fun beach in Santa Barbara. Prettier than the harbour beaches and dogs allowed. On the south side of the beach (south of the estuary) dogs can run off leash. North, dogs are allowed but on leash. It's really pretty -- good views of the cliffs and the beach itself. Gets crowded on the weekend and the parking is... More

gorgeous weather and views, enjoyed the zen garden appearance of small boulders as the tide went out but it took us half an hour to scrape the tar off of our feet and scrub the residue off with acetone.

Arroyo Burro is a wonderful spot to start the morning. Bring your dog for off-leash fun on the beach and later enjoy breakfast (can't recall the name of the restaurant), but it is wonderful. Very Santa Barbara.

Locals call this Hendry's Beach and sometimes you can see whales and dolphins off shore. There is a small free parking lot, but get there early as it fills up quickly. The restaurant is reasonably priced and has a great view of the water. Lots of people come here with their dogs and it's great fun to watch!

Arroyo Burro (Hendries Beach)is very beautiful, huge awesome cliffs, wide beach, lots of happy dogs and kids...even has an (expensive) restaurant and self-serve dog wash for your convenience. Parking is limited, like everywhere in Santa Barbara, but its not as hard to park as some places. Early AM is foggy and cool, but go then or late afternoon for best... More

After visiting the Stearns Wharf area, we stopped by Arroyo Burro to get away from all the tourists. We love dogs, but our boxer and pit bull were staying with family back on the east coast. It was great to see all the dogs running free on the beach. I liked how the beach was separated into two sections, one... More

Dogs were having a blast on the unleashed side of the beach. Even my dog, who usually doesn't like the water, went in and played.

Lots of parking but very busy on weekends. Empty week days. Fully dog friendly. Easy walk on access to the beach. Restaurant , The Boathouse, provides next to the sand outdoor dining. There is also take out around the corner.

Beat the wharf and State Street crowds at this beach. It's small but you can walk in both directions for a long stretch. Look for dolphin pods off shore. Sand flies were a little annoying, so watch your food if you bring some. You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Boathouse on the beach. A good, quiet spot.

Super accessible, good amount of parking, and plenty of beach. Its a great spot to park and take a great walk along the beach beside the cliffs. I could have easily spent ALL day here. There was a restaurant at the opening between the cliffs where you access the beach but I didn't get a look. One thing to note... More
