After researching all options for a beach wedding in the Santa Barbara area, we opted for Hendry's Beach. Even though there was no way to reserve space except the picnic tables in the small adjacent grassy area, it was perfect for our short ceremony surrounded by a few close friends and some family members. Other people wandered through and around... More

Lots of fun watching people and animals at the dog park area. The on-site restaurant had delicious food and an unimpeded ocean view.

I love this beach for its fabulous rock formations, fallen trees and interesting bird life just a short stroll away from the main entrance and car-parking area. Surf was up when we visited, presaging the storms and downpours that hit this part of California in the first week of January 2016.

The best beach around Santa B. Sunsets here are breathtaking. You can walk up to the Douglas Preserve, and see everything from the bluff tops, or walk the more than ample beach. Dog friendly. The Boathouse restaurant is located on the beach. Parking is awful in the summer, especially on weekends, but good from Labor Day on. Restrooms are clean.... More

Frequented by families and dog lovers. Worth a visit to chill, swim, surf or grab a bite. Beautiful beach to decompress and enjoy a summer breeze in the month of December. Highly Recommended!

A nice public beach, with good parking. There is some kind of restaurant/bar right adjacent, but we didn't get to check it out, so can't say for sure what's there. Looks like a place that lots of locals go to, people with dogs, surfers, walkers, beach aficionados of all kinds. California dreamin'.

This is a beautiful beach, and it's the first place my wife and I spent quality time together. Now, we bring our dog.

The Boathouse restaurant hosts decent food, a perfect ambiance, and a beach to walk on before and after eating. Easy to reach from the freeway with only 2 turns to find it. I have seen whales, dolphins, and plenty of boats while dining at the restaurant. I do NOT recommend any swimming here as the runoff is nasty, but most... More

Terrific beach, perfect for sunsets as great bar located there. Hard to park, get there early. Just beautiful views and soft sand.

Easy access & easy parking. Hendry's Boathouse Restaurant was fun. Off leash dogs allowed on part of the beach.
