Parking is tough and if you go there on a sunny Saturday it can be crowded (but where isn't). If the accommodations were a bit better I would give a higher rating.

We had been told by some Santa Barbara residents to put this on our list of visits. It is on the scenic tour so we stopped. There is a large and bustling restaurant there and some wonderful scenic views. The beach has some tidal pools and large cliffs at the back.

What a delight to find a beach where dogs are leash-free! A must if you have a dog, and the humans get to enjoy a wonderful beach as well!

I can see where this would be a perfect place to spend a day walking the beach, basking in the sun, having a picnic lunch or one at their outdoor café. For us it was just a look/see because the weather was cold.

Gorgeous beach with endless walking potential(depending on tides!). Never too crowded and good for families or sunsets. Ocean on one side and beautiful cliffs on the other. This is the beach I'd choose every time!!

I try to get to this beach as often as I can because you are allowed to have your dog off-leash. I've never had any problems with aggressive dogs, but many owners are not good about keeping an eye on their dogs and picking up after them - or worse, leaving their poo-bags on the beach for them to wash... We were there in the evening to check out a project my husband's company is bidding on. The weather was perfect and we were able to walk on the beach and just enjoy the evening and the smell of the ocean. Plenty of parking and a very nice restaurant if you are interested.

There are very few beaches in the area where the dogs are allowed off leash, so this beach can get pretty crowded, especially in the evening and weekends. Parking can be tricky, but the dogs love it here. There is a self serve dog washing station here, which includes everything from shampoo, conditioner and dryers. Very convenient. A beautiful beach,... More

North beach for dogs on leash and South beach for off leash. Great option for people with all sorts of dogs. Most small dogs were on the North beach.

On beach days the parking lot overflows with angry motorists willing to slit each other's throats for a parking spot. Not worth it for the amount of urban litter that the same people leave on the beach and grounds.
