We call it Hendry's as the local surf break and beach walk. Great for families, dogs and sunsets. Don't miss out on the Boathouse restaurant happy hour that is right on the beach. Parking is free, but get there early on a sunny beach day. Outdoor Showers available.

As Santa Barbara residents, we rarely set foot on East or West Beach, the only stretches of sand that the tourist community regularly visits. Why would we, when we have Arroyo Burro Beach (Hendry's Beach to locals).? From the SB Pier area, drive about ten minutes north along Cliff Drive and you'll find a sheltered cove, and a beach divided... More

A quiet little beach near Hope Ranch. Lots of room to walk and a good restaurant to sip drinks and watch the sun go down.

While staying off State Street in Santa Barbara, we had thought a view of the sunset from the wharf area would provide us a great vantage point but we like to see the sun setting on the horizon and the mountains got in the way at the Wharf. This location was perfect! We parked in a parking lot near the... More

Also known as Hensley's beach. Tide was up and surf was 3-5 ft. I grew up on the beaches of Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach but have lived in UT for the last 35 years. I was able to relive my youth again as a 20 yr old surfer.

Off-leash area is divine for pooches. Note that the restaurant on the beach is not as dog-friendly as reviews around the web have said, however - you're free to tie up your dog outside the restaurant, but not to have him/her on the deck with you.

Beautiful shoreline and dog-friendly if you head in the right direction. Be aware that you'll meet lots of other dogs off-leash.

This beach is just beautiful. People with their dogs and families. There's a great little bar right there. Parking is super easy. I went with my 80 year old grandma and there are minimal stairs or difficulty to actually get to the beach. Everyone picks up after their dogs. It's very clean and very nice! (Also, tripadvisor is making me... More

This beach is known as the dog beach to locals. There is an area where dogs can go off leash and romp and play. We went several times with our son and his family dog included. Although it can be very crowded especially on the weekend, it is impressive how much parking they have allowed. Also, there are lots of... More

We went here on a weekday with our seven year old. The beach was full of dog walkers and we had a great time playing with the dogs. Lots of seaweed, but I don't know if that is normal. The CAFE at the beach is good, but very pricey.
