Not so big that you get Museum-itis, as in "I cannot look at another thing!" Permanent collection always satisfying and good rotating exhibits. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, tranquil, nice grounds if you don't want to go inside. The restaurant is particularly good, again, not unreasonably priced. Parking is easy. Another little gem of Santa Ana.

Obviously if you're a museum person you'll love it. Simple as that. It's a nice place to go with family or on a date. It's a place for anyone who wants to know a little more

Go to the Bowers Museum for the current exhibit -- "China's Lost Civilization: The Mystery of San xingdui" -- that questions traditionally dating and place of Chinese culture. This special exhibit has both stunning pieces, good video support, and raises intriguing questions. In addition the museum came alive with music on the front patio, kids activities in the parking lot... More

We went to see the exhibit. They give free audio and docent tours for the museum. We spent 3 hours at the museum. The area is well laid out and beautiful items are on display. Parking is adjacent to the museum. A great afternoon.

The Bowers Museum stands out as a gleaming jewel in Orange County. It houses records of multiple cultures in which one can investigate. The permanent collection references native west and southwest people. An array of objects represent the creative output of people from prehistoric to contemporary times. You will see exquisite rudimentary tools, jewelry, basketry, and pottery. Bowers has a steady... More

My niece and I visited the Bowers Museum last Sunday, November 2nd. The cost was free on the first Sunday of the month and, understandably, we waited for a while outside for the doors to open. The main exhibition was on ancient Chinese artifacts and it was magnificent. It was a multimedia presentation with video, photography, as well as actual... More

I saw the Terra-cotte statues at this museum. It's like going to China without leaving my back-yard. They host many of the wonderful travelinjg exhibts. There is always something to see at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California.

Bowers Museum is almost in my backyard and this last weekend was the first time I visited, afterwards wondering how many other world class exhibits I've missed. "Very Impressive" were the first thoughts I had as I walked around gazing at the incredible objects on display. Featured were: headhunter cultures of the South Pacific, artifacts from the earliest Californians, artifacts... More
