This is a nice museum in central Orange County. It has limited exhibit space, although this has recently increased. On a visit a while back I was very disappointed that much of the display consisted of photographs of the original art.

The Bowers is a wonderful museum. They always have great special exhibits. Most recently, we have enjoyed the terra cotta soldiers which turned out to be so much more. A real surprise was the Madeleine Albright Pin Collection. It was wonderful. This is a small enough museum that you can actually see it in a visit. Seniors' rates. Almost everything... More

Usually I am not much into museums but Bowers, for a smaller cith like Santa Ana, is a real sleeper! It gets some of the top displays from around the world! Even King Tut's treasure! Try it you might like it!

I teach college level-classes and I used this museum for a field trip to a special exhibit. However, when we got there, the permanent exhibit was a gold mine!!! Their New Guinea exhibit is extensive, colorful, tasteful, and fabulous. There was very little exoticism and more preservation of culture (though maybe others would disagree). It was hands on experience in... More

I visited with my 8 and 3 year old grandchildren. It was very interactive! All the activities were available and out for the children. There was a little "RV", instruments, costumes, and different rooms to explore archeology. Also a really cool green screen experience. They were able to make a clay turtle and make a glowing painting in the "Cave",... More

The Bowers Museum is just a delight. They have a great restaurant and there are always things going on inside the gates. Their collections are very enjoyable and when there is a special exhibition, they are always worth the visit.

Small, but well maintained museum, which features interesting exhibitions. We've enjoyed the film costume installation, an exhibit featuring Maurice Sendak and other such displays. It's generally uncrowded.

This museum has so much to offer. Early California art, a children's museum, national and many international exhibitions. The exhibitions change frequently so check before going. The best time to go is the first Sunday of the month, which has a changing celebration of a particular culture. One month Japanese, or Indian,Irish, Russian etc. With dancing performances, music, costume, food samples and... More
