Interesing small museum.

Interesting small museum, especially for its Chinese art and historical material. Worth a visit if you are in Orange County.

The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana is hosting“The 1968 Exhibit,” a national traveling exhibition that takes its visitors on an interactive time machine back to this tumultuous and pivotal year. The exhibit is amazing. It chronically explores all of the year. It was fun to experience 1968 through the exhibits. It covers Vietnam, the Civil Rights movement, politics, music, art... More

Situated in Santa Ana the museum is a great place to visit whilst in the Orange County area. If you seeking a little history & culture to add to your Beach & Disney vacation try a half day visit here. The building & grounds are quite beautiful. The entrance looks like an old Mission Church & the courtyard has a... More

Calling all baby boomers out there to see the 1968 exhibit on loan from the Minnesota Historical Society at the Bowers Museum before it leaves in September. Literally it is a hoot in addition to being very moving. Nothing like seeing your childhood and teenage years pass before your very own eyes while watching and listening to Walter Cronkite. After... We live in the area and this was the first visit to the Bower's Museum. I was pleasantly surprised at how large the museum is on the inside. We went specifically to see the 1968 Exhibit and the Adams/Curtis/Weston photography exhibit. We spent several hours wandering this museum and enjoying every exhibit. If you get the chance before Sept. 13,... More

We drove up from San Diego for the day and visited the Bowers Museum for the first time, primarily for the Adams/Curtis/Weston photography exhibit. The exhibit was quite small, but was enhanced by having a fee docent tour. He pointed out things we would not have thought of and brought more meaning to the photographs. After that, we really enjoyed... More

Tastefully curated. I went to see the Hidden China or Secret China and Polynesian exhibits along with the other exhibits there. It was a great place to spend a weird, rainy day. Enjoyed it immensely.

The Bower's Museum has a whole new look to its interior. It has added a large new wing since my last visit: The Kennedy Wing which has an airy multi-purpose "hall" and houses an East Meets West exhibit room and a Pacific Islands exhibit room. There is also a nice gift shop and an upscale restaurant (Tangata) in the lobby... More

We are members because we love the special exhibits, such as the Dead Sea Scrolls that have traveled from museum to museum this year. Members get free entrance to most of the exhibits including the special traveling shows. Parking is super easy, free across the street, and for a small fee at the museum door. The restaurant is convenient and... More

We met close friends at the Bowers to see the 1968 exhibit. We were able to park on the street for free but there is a parking lot across the street for $6.00. This was Fathers Day Sunday and as a father I received free admission. My wife's ticket cost $12.00 and given all you can see that is a... More
