On one of our numerous trips up and down California's Central Coast we this time stopped at Moonstone Beach. What an amazing view and perfectly formed beach. Love the steps down to the beach. A must see for all persons who are traveling in the area. Bring a love one with you to know true love all over again.

The boardwalk was really fun to walk down. Even at a leisurely pace & stopping at view points it didn't take more than an hour. The sea breeze was refeshing & got us all hungry. One member in our party had to suddenly use the restroom and a near by hotel allowed him to use their facilities.

This is one of the most beautiful coastlines you will ever see. It will literally take your breath away. Pristine and rugged. A place of natural beauty.

Good food, great sunset pix! Very friendly people, only 10 min drive from Hearst Castle! Doesn't open till 5pm in evening(but does have lunch times), so we moved on to the Cambria Grill next to Shell.

As a kid I always picked up and saved shells. This was a chance to do the same with small rocks. Plentiful and colorful. You will enjoy it.

We love rocks! Moonstone beach is a sweet walk, either on the boardwalk above or the beach below. There are tide pools if the tide is low and of course hunting for the moonstone and jade treasures. The "moonstones" are really small cream colored semi translucent stones-maybe it's a mistake to call them moonstones. They are fun to hunt for... More

Not a great beach for making sand castles but my toddler loved it. We collected rocks, played in the sand and surf. He loved it! I was thoroughly impressed by the fact that the beach is clean, there's no trash anywhere!! We loved it

The moon stones are cool, but the beach is polluted with ocean mess. It is hard to find a spot to post up for the day. The water is great and waves are decent. Def. not a place to send an entire day.

We made a point of looking for and stopping by Moonstone Beach on our recent trip. Firstly the signposting is terrible and it's not that obvious where the beach is. Once you find it, opposite the inns along the drive, it's again not that obvious where the beach with all the stones is. We never actually found anything resembling the... More
