Beautiful beach, amazing shoreline. Picnic and barbecue areas provided. Beach was deserted when we visited but sadly too cold to swim!

This state beach is across the road from Hearst Castle. It has a nice pier area and wonderful views. There is a nice picnic area. There is also the Coastal Discovery Center; when open, the volunteers there are very helpful in answering one's questions. There are some exhibits and DVD type movies available as well.

Spent a couple of hours enjoying the scenic beach, cool spot just below Hearst Castle, as you can see it from the beach. I do not recommend anyone going out on the kayaks if there are waves as we watched a group get tumbled up on the beach as they came in lost cameras and glasses was not good!

A must do experience if you are in the area. The sights we're beautiful and Cubby was very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. From the mechanics of getting in/around/out of the Kayak to pointing out the various types of sealife on the trip, Cubby provided valuable information in an easy to follow manor. Looking forward to our next trip out.

This is a pretty beach across Hwy 1 from the entrance to Hearst Castle. The pier offers beautiful views of the water and cove. Always a nice place to relax and picnic. End of August, beginning of September you could see humpback whales from the pier. Not out at sea but RIGHT NEAR the pier! Handwritten signs by the entrance... More

After Hearst castle we stopped here to check out this place around evening. It is very nice to walk over the pier, watch tides from top with evening sea breeze. We found a couple of people camped there with fish hooks. There is a beach access also but we did not go there, but we can see lots of seaweed... More

A beautiful, not too crowded beach. Kayaks available to rent. Nice long pier to walk out on. Go here after the Hearst castle tour!

Stopped here before heading to our tour of Hearst Castle. Nice view of the southern coastline and its wildlife from the end of the old pier.

Beautiful area to walk around, very clean and very well maintained. Beach is a little rocky so bring some sturdy beach shoes

Easy access, bathroom available. Great place for finding shells, stones, etc. We watched about 30 pelicans feeding, it was so cool. Worth the time.
