While on a trip to the central coast, we visited the Hearst winery. Jeff poured our wines and was very pleasant and informative. We were served five wines, all wonderful. There is also a small snack bar that serves sandwiches, soups and snacks which was quite good.

The setting is interesting in a rustic sort of way, with nearby barn where they apparently have yearly bbq's. The place is quaint with an adjoining order at the counter type restaurant, a combo that adds to the very laid back charm of the place. Despite the philanthropy inspired collaboration between partners, the nice vibe and knowledgeable staff, the wines... More

We tried both the Merlot and the Cabernet. We thought the merlot was so so but the Cabernet was very good. We also had a delicious meal at the cafe. Wonderful hamburgers at a reasonable price.

On a tip from one of out tour guides we ventured across Hwy1 to the Hearst general grocery store. Great option to eating at visitor center. Hearst beef burgers are awesome, wine tasting room coexisting in same space is brilliant. Beautiful wines to taste, consume or buy. Also available is several cuts of the beef to bring home.

They are located across the road from the Castle. This review is of the winery only and not the food they serve. I did not find anything unusual about their wines. The whites and the reds were all too dry for me. You can do about six tastes of their wines for $10 which is reasonable. Service is very good... More

Driving the PCH-1 and needing to stop for something to eat. Went to San Simeon and came across this winery and cafe straight away, best decision ever to stop here. We had a burger each and my goodness it was the nicest beef I've had in a long time. Mouthwatering, juicy and generous servings. Sadly we couldn't try the wine... More

We came just as it was closing (4:00pm) but we were able to go inside. Didn't taste any wine but did buy a package of beef jerky (since they are known for their beef) and it was fabulous! I would go back and taste their wine and eat in the cafe.

Talk about a fun place! Very friendly staff (ask for Geraldine), and great wines. I'm a red drinker but loved their Chardonnay. Had a green chile cheeseburger from the cafe and was blown away by the quality of the meat and the size of the burger. Was enough to share with another single gal visiting from Central America. Don't miss... More

Stopped in for some wine and lunch on a gorgeous April day. Of course the wine was delicious and our tortilla soup, roast turkey sandwich and burger were very tasty. It was delightful to sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful views. I definitely recommend this place.
