Amazing Swordfish Sandwich

People will come for the wine but return for the food. Absolutely delicious it was. My swordfish sandwich was out of the very top drawer.

This place is part winery, part post office (yes a real one) and part burger joint. I stopped by the winery and enjoyed it so much I got myself a bottle for later. Limited parking, only one bathroom (for both) but worth checking out.

The plan was to do a drive-by and snap a photo, but once we saw a number of cars parked on the side of the road we knew we had to stop and sip. Smart decision. Reds rule the region, and our palates were pleased with the Three Sisters Cuvee and Randolph. The tiny building also houses the San Simeon... More

Went there because wanted to see how it was. Didn't know Hearst had a winery or if they were related to the castle. Ladies were very nice and knowledgeable. It was a bit crowded. It was a cute place, small but cute. They had a post office and a small 'cafe' that was closed. Bought a few bottles. Everyone seemed... More

So...after you visit Hearst Castle, stop here for wine, food and a relaxing break near the ocean. Honestly, we had low expectations of this place but were pleasantly surprised. First, it's in a very cozy, quaint setting. Nestled in an old building that was once used during the long past days of fishing boats, you will find both food and... More

I thought that the winery here was playing on the location by the Hearst Castle. I was very wrong they had some outstanding wines. I enjoyed them so much I joined their wine club

We pulled in for the Hearst Wine Tasting on an impulse when we saw the sign and so glad we did! Their wines are fantastic and the atmosphere is great. It was crowded when we stopped and everyone engaged in conversation about the wines, their travel experiences, where they were from, etc. Staff was very pleasant and informative; they made... More

My wife and I stopped here after touring the castle for lunch and a tasting. I was a little skeptical that it might just be a fancy name on crappy wine. Boy was I wrong. The wine was great, the service was amiable and the food was delicious. The staff helped point us in the right direction for stops along... More

The Hearst Ranch Tasting room is located in the historic San Simeon store. The winery offers several varietals that are less common; Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Tempranillo in addition to the more typical varietals and blends. They also have estate olive oil and balsamic. They charge for the tasting but will credit the fee to the purchase of a bottle... More

The tasting room and a cafe share a small bungalow with a large side patio. This is the perfect stop for refueling after touring the castle. The wine selection is outstanding, the sunshine and breeze are refreshing, and the food is pretty fulfilling.
