This historic adobe has really been through the mill. When you consider it was built in 1850, Rebuilt in the 20's and in its present form rebuilt again in the 60's. The Friends of the Adobe are some committed historians to have done such a fine job in putting this place back together and collecting the artifacts to fill the... More

Don't come here expecting a huge house or lands. Instead, you will find a free attraction run by friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. The museum is small but allows you to see into two storeys and provide some context for what you are seeing. The gift shop is also small but with an eclectic mix of regional items. Would highly recommend... More

This is right off the freeway so easy to pop in. No fee but donations are accepted. It's got some nice history to it, lots of antiques and you can imagine it would have been a real oasis as a stop from LA to SF in the 19th Century. The docent is local and enjoyed giving us a little history.... More

Although there isn't much to the Rios-Caledonia Adobe, what there is proves to be quite interesting. This was the site of a famous massacre, purports to be haunted and is well restored. You can complete a visit to this site in probably under 1 hour and is right across the street from the San Miguel Mission so tying the two... More

The Rios-Caledonia Adobe is a very historic old adobe that is furnished to show its history as a stage stop inn, home, school and store over the years. Admission is free. They have a nice gift shop with a lot of antiques and events also. A nice place to go and relax and picnic too.
