Really enjoyed my time here. Stayed in Morro Bay and visited this park twice looking for birds to photograph. I wasn't disappointed. My visits were in the morning and there were many sitings, including a number of soaring vultures and hawks. Great place to take a moderate walk and soak in the pleasant environment. Scenery isn't spectacular however. There is... More

We are finishing up a week here in an Airstream trailer. The nightly rate is very reasonable with full hookups. The sites are big with lots of privavcy and it's quiet. There is a park next door with a botanical garden and hiking trails. It's a great find.

I took my family to El Chorro Reg. Park in May when they had a special art show at the botanical garden that is in the park. There is a fee to enter (per car) to get into the park & gardens. If you are camping, you can just walk over from the campsites. They also have a golf course... More

This is by far the best doggie park I have ever seen. It's been been imitated but not duplicated. There are two enclosed areas, a smaller one for smaller dogs and a larger one for the bigger ones. The big one is used by all sized breeds. Fully enclosed, with drinking water for the pooches, and lots of toys, and... More

El Chorro is, I admit, a place I only visit during the yearly Renaissance Faire in July. In July, it tends to be searingly hot. But...the Botanical Gardens are shaping up to be quite nice, the golf course next door is acceptable, and the playground works.

First of all, the creek runs through the park and provides hours of exploring entertainment, the playground is great, there are bbq pits and good bathrooms. Just as a warning, there can also be some homeless people that claim a certain area near the creek from time to time so keep a close eye on the kids where you are... More

This is a nice recreation area just north of SLO. The hiking trail goes up the sunny side of a hill and comes back down on the wooded side. Pretty views! Hummingbirds, geckos and soaring raptors!

This dog park is well maintained and convenient for travelers. Wonderful to be able to make a short stop and give the dogs a chance to run off some energy.
