The course is challenging and interesting. Some blind shots, some over the water. Greens are in good shape. Price is reasonable.I suggest a golf cart because of the distance between some holes.

This course is a joke for the serious golfer. The first 8 holes go up the canyon so you have a lot of blind shots to flags on narrow, hard greens. You are just guessing on what club to hit then the ball hits and bounces off the green. The grass in the fairways was sparse with a lot of... More

We bought the golf package with our stay at the Cliffs Resort. We had our choice of two courses, Avila and Black Lake. We decided on Avila for what we thought would be some ocean views. We should have decided not to play the minute they brought out the rental clubs and again when we put the dirty clubs in... More

Can't believe an owner would let a magnificent facility deteriorate into this state of disrepair. Be careful allot of places you can hurt yourself. Avila beach is great and stay but go to another course to play golf.

One of the worst kept courses I have ever played on, not sure what they are doing with green fees. Really disappointed. Good breakfast burrito at the turn, that's about it.

Great course layout, clubhouse overlooks Avila Beach, course meanders over waterways and several bridges. Pro shop is small but personnel courteous. Mulligan's is the bar/grill where food is entirely overpriced. Still...a fun experience.

I chose this golf course because of it's location and length (2 senior golfers in the group). The golf carts needed to be replaced 5 years ago, very rough shape. The course layout is very nice, but was in very poor shape. For $70/player, I expected much better quality all around.
