I chose this golf course because of it's location and length (2 senior golfers in the group). The golf carts needed to be replaced 5 years ago, very rough shape. The course layout is very nice, but was in very poor shape. For $70/player, I expected much better quality all around.

While not an overwhelming course, it's a fair test and good opportunity to play quality golf near the ocean. Plays along the river, using it as a hazard numerous times on the back 9.

Avila Beach is a beautiful coastal town with its nice harbor area along the Pacific Ocean. We have enjoyed several times playing the Avila Beach gold course and find it to be a great way to spend the day. The views are beautiful from the course and its a fun one to play. Golf club and staff are very good.

We couldn't get over the beautiful views here..first time at Avila Beach so we didn't pick up on any of the shortcomings that other reviewers have commented on. It's a fairly difficult course but if you get there before all the crowds, very enjoyable and relaxing. Great service by all except one grumpy groundskeeper. Other than that, good overall experience.

Played 3 rounds while staying in Avila, the course was not in the best shape as I remember, some areas in the fairways seemed to need work and some of the tee boxes were in bad shape, But the greens were some of the best I have putted on. They are like a fine carpet. Look for deals on line,... More

There is a drought and the salt air permeates the area which does make it difficult to maintain a golf course, so possibly some of the shortcomings are forgivable. The greens were in very good shape, the bunkers were far from it. It is a fun course to play and is interesting. You cross the river several times. The restaurant... More

We played here several years back...and we thought we had a better experience. After this outing, we WILL NOT be back. The course layout is HOKEY for starters. You're playing blind shots onto a green that is located right next to (and I mean right next to!) the next tee box. Getting to some of the greens you have to... More

I have never seen this before, an offer for complete rank beginners to play golf. For $25 each, my wife and I each got a drink from the bar, a set of loaner clubs, a golf lesson on the driving range, a bucket of range balls, a golf cart, and access to play nine holes of golf. I had almost... More

We had an 11:00 tee time on Tuesday, the 15th. We were told to start on the back....which is hole #9. There were 2 of us. We went to the tee. There was no starter. It was about 11 and there was no-one on the tee. We waited for the twosome out on the course to clear and then we... More

This use to be a lovely course. Water is a problem, but that shouldn't effect the upkeep. Bad cart paths, bad tee boxes at least the women's, you walk a block for carts and then you walk a block to get to the restrooms. It was difficult to figure out the holes as they didn't match the card. Most of... More
