Cesar Chavez park is a great centerpiece to the buildings and life of downtown San Jose. There is the tech museum and children's discovery park a short walk away. With many public transportation options in the area and a great location for walking around, its a great experience. Particularly in late November and December when "Christmas in the Park" occurs.... This park and the water fountain at Plaza de Cesar Chavez, makes it a great place to hang around, just relax. I and my husband go their every other week. Just sit there make s u feel good. There are hosts of eateries around, so you can always carry a cuppa coffee or some tit bits and then come there,... More

We enjoy walking around the park, nice fountains in a great location. And the events held there such as Christmas in the Park and the San Jose Jazz Festival are great.

Downtown San Jose keeps trying, but cannot get it done. Every other area offers more ... dining, shopping, walking, people watching. Christmas In The Park is nice, but there is little else to draw us or any locals downtown ... visit Willow Glen, Santana Row, Mtn View - Castro St, Los Gatos Main ... even better, have S.J. city planners... We visited Christmas in the Park last night which is in Cesar Chavez Park in downtown San Jose. The park was very nicely decorated with tons of Christmas trees and great animated displays. There was also plenty vendors selling hot chocolate, snacks as well as various vendors selling light toys. We ended up buying a few of the light toys... More

When it costs to park on the city street and you have to move your car every couple of hours, why go downtown? I'll go to Butcher Park in my neighborhood.

4 little words: Christmas in the Park, every year, keep us coming back! Very family friendly! A couple of Summers ago, we enjoyed "Music in the Park" during the Summer months. Sadly, too many people smoking their dope out in the open RUINED IT for us family folk!

Being centrally located is not a plus for Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park. If you can't park at a meter the garage's can be expensive. If there is no concert or other event the only attraction for the park is the water feature in the summer months

The summer Music in the Park is sensational. Free concerts, nice crowd, and plenty of dancing. I go every year just to see friends from previous years. Did I say free?

This historic plaza, once the place where the City Hall stood, draws festivals, speakers, and is the home of Christmas in the Park. Races begins and end here and until recently a place where children could play in it's multiple fountains ( hopefully to again be with water).
