This park has such potential but was such a disappointment. The city has a jewel and it just isn't maintained. It has some very interesting exhibits, but it is like a ghost town.

The History Park is a perfect venue for an afternoon out with the family - regardless of ages. Exhibits give a true insight into San Jose's past. Relaxed atmosphere gives plenty of time to browse and allow your imagination to take you back in time.

An interesting collection in a very small space so there's not much walking to do. Myself and a colleague popped in on a wet Sunday during a business trip and we spent over a hour chatting away in the print shop with the very knowledgeable docent, and my colleague discovered that one of the gentlemen in the vehicle shed was... History San Jose is the southern end of parkland bordered by Senter Road and Phelan, and there are several historic houses that have been moved there to make a little town. I'm glad the letterpress folks have found a home there for many years, and there are several community historical groups housed in the park's various venues. There are also... More

We went during the bike museum exhibit. We were charged $5/person but dads were free. We had the most fun in the school house playing school. The bike museum was interesting too. You can also learn about Vietnamese and Portuguese culture here as there are museums just for that.

I hope this History Park is the same one I am thinking of. The actual name is San Jose History Park located at 1650 Senter Rd, San Jose, CA 95112. It is a park which housed San Jose historical buildings and history. Inside the park, there is a Chinese temple called Ng Shing Gung. Inside the temple, there is a... More

A 17 acre area with several historic buildings that have been furnished by different ethnic organizations and a main exhibit area that is professionally curated. Docents from the various organizations are guides within the houses. A street car runs through the park and often there are events on the weekends that are very well planned and attended. See the website... More

This is a wonderful park. It's very well maintained. The only issue I have with it, is that not all the homes are open all the time, so it's kind of hit and miss as to what you can see. It's a great place to take a picnic and enjoy a nice day out. There is a small eating place,... More

Have been here several times. The restored buildings are interesting (print shop and MD office in particular). Santa was arriving on this latest trip, and the kids enjoyed the visit. Railroad/train barn also has some neat stuff on exhibit. Like most parks of this nature, a lot depends upon the docents who are 'working' that day. Worth a visit.

This was a once in a life time moment! Walking among San Jose history in an unexpected place! San Jose has worked hard to get old established buildings on the brink of ruin and have moved them to another location to preserve the history! You are literally walking back in time! I am going to be taking my kids to... More
