The interior and exterior architecture and decoration mixed elements of native american, spanish missionary and late 19th century in a unique manner.

I was totally caught off guard by the beauty of this Cathedral. They just don't make them like this any longer. I thought I was in Europe, it was that special.

Very informative and interesting. The lady that gave me the tour was so friendly. She took her time to show me around and explained the history to me. Really worth visiting this historic cathedral.

Take time to visit the Cathedral, to spend a few minutes reflecting on the beauty of the surroundings and the peace that envelopes you when you enter this sanctuary. Pause and give thanks for the blessings in your life. This is a beautiful place of refuge in the City of San Jose.

One doesn't associate high architecture and cathedrals with SJ--but this one is special and wonderfully restored....try and catch a concert here....you will not be disappointed!

I live in Southern California so when I went to San Jose I made a promise to not miss the cathedral. As soon as you walk in it is breath taking. I felt so at peace there and I definitely want to go see it again :)

I grew up around this church, I live just about everywhere in the Bay Area, I now live in North Carolina. I would not say that I am a frequent church goer but St. Joseph Cathedral Basilica in downtown San Jose is the best church I have ever been in my entire life. The surrounding area near the church though... More
