I visited this church twice and it's good place to visit. Color combination, statues are very decorative. It's excellent piece art where they shown the journey of Jesus with meaningful messages.

This cathedral is a gem in downtown San Jose. It is possible to sit and move around the Basilica for moments at a time to take in each angle and every painted area and ceiling. As beautiful and majestic as European churches. It is outstanding. It is sometimes not convenient to park in the area and be prepared for metered... More

We visited early one morning at 9:30. We parked the block over but it's $1.00 every 15 minutes with a $20.00 maximum. We walked in and there was a feeling of peace. It was simply breathtaking. This church compares to some of the beautiful churches of Europe. The frescos, the fabulous stained glass, especially the huge window over the alter. Very impressive. Allow at least an hour to fully appreciate all the beauty here. Please be respectful of the fact that this is a holy place for many people.

The interior and exterior architecture and decoration mixed elements of native american, spanish missionary and late 19th century in a unique manner.

I was totally caught off guard by the beauty of this Cathedral. They just don't make them like this any longer. I thought I was in Europe, it was that special.
