If you play here in the winter your a fool ! But in the summer its 20 degrees cooler here than anywhere inland and that makes up for a lot . I wont lie to you this course is rough , the greens are pretty good and the layout is difficult . I repeat this course is not in good... More

Shorecliffs is a very difficult, narrow course with the connections between hole grouping out of a grade B horror movie. That being said, the greens are in decent shape, the trees and hills make a fine backdrop and the price is outstanding and after playing there most courses are easy. It is an unforgiving course. So you play here to... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge! Played white tees 6/28/12- shot 100 (5 out of bounds penalties), took about 4:20 min to play. My second time playing the course. The first time (last summer) I lost nine balls. This course is unforgiving for slicers/hookers(?) and the overly aggressive. Though this is a good thing in my mind- pay about $20-$25 & take... More

the price was right, but the houses falling off the cliffs and all the ground squirrels were very unsightly. the fairways were beat up badly and the clubhouse hasn't seen a contractor since Nixon played there. the thing I liked least was driving the carts thru narrow drainage tunnels.

I have played all over the world and the condition of Shorecliffs in the upscale community of San Clemente was an embarassment.... It is located close to the ocean but I don't recall any type of real views...it is mostly in a depression of the earth that included travelling along a storm sewer runoff ditch...a Big Run-off Ditch...kind of cool... Considering weather, championship design and spectacular views. Kapalua and Pebble Beach might be better, but not for 5 times the price!!!!! Excellent day of golf!

This course needs a lot of work to get it into shape. It is a good value however during the raining season the course melts away........

We played here on a weekday for only $22 including cart via www.click4teetimes.com while vacationing at nearby Newport Coast. Well, you get what you pay for. Driving under the roads in the wet, smelly, narrow tunnels multiple times between holes sure took away from the experience. Most fairways were in decent shape, but are narrow and the rough swallows balls... More

Staying for a week in San Clemente and wanting to play some golf, I went to Shorecliffs and played a round. The staff there is very nice and friendly, but that's the best part of the experience. The course is in poor shape and the back nine leads you through dark wet smelly tunnels that make you think you are... More
