A beautiful estate right on the coast in San Clemente. Gardens are year-round fabulously maintained and gorgeous. Exhibits change with the seasons, and are usually very good. Price is reasonable. The buildings are wonderful. The view! Stay all day and just enjoy the flowers, the succulents, and the Pacific Ocean. Watch the water hit the rocks. Watch the water change... More

Here's a great example of early California architecture and San Clemente history. Beautiful views of the pier and ocean and lovely home. Excellent intimate art gallery too. When I went there was a fantastic collection of California Watercolorists: Rex Brandt, Millard Sheets, Phil Dike to name a few. Just a special little spot of what one visionary had for San... More

Gorgeous property and could just imagine how wonderful it would have been to live her e"back in the day". Great little museum any time, even better place to attend events like art shows, small concerts, weddings, etc. For weddings, they have good parking, a bridal suite, indoor and outdoor areas for guests, beautiful ceremony site over the ocean, and a... Walking down the road to the beach we came across Casa Romantica, unfortunately we didn't really have enough time to do it justice but we will definitely go back. Helpful and knowledgeable ladies on the desk and some really interesting pictures and information, didn't know for instance that surfing came originally from Hawaii and had been in Hawaii for more... An historic home - known as an Ole Hansen home. Ole Hansen was the visionary who created a little Spanish Village by the Sea. Besides its historic importance, this venue hosts a wide variety of events. It overlooks the Ocean so there are also beautiful views and exquisite sunsets. "This is an unparalleled gem. There are musical events for all... More

I live up the beach from here and have shot many weddings here. It is a BEAUTIFUL PLACE. You can just imagine from the photos how incredible it was to live here "back in the day". If you are looking for a place for an incredible event, this place has it all...indoor/outdoor space, view, excellent bride/groom rooms, and hidden area... More

I love architecture from the 1920's- this is a great example. The exhibits were great in that they had info about how Southern CA was developed - San Clemente, Venice, etc. Great history of the area and of course the place is picturesque with fantastic views. For $5 - it is worth coming.

Visited here in May 2014 and with the beautiful spring weather was worth a stop. The history of the home was quite interesting but it is really the views of the ocean, the amazing Spanish tiles and the garden that takes your breath away.
