Casa Romantica

Excellent venue for a wedding and reception. In a nice community near the Pacific Ocean. What could be better than that! Hotels and other needs close by.

Ole Hanson, a San Clemente pioneer, designed and built many spanish style homes and buildings in San Clemente. Casa Romantica was his home so you know it has to be special. Check it out!

The villa was beautifully restored with period pieces that made it authentic. It had wonderfully varied gardens and a fantastic view. Many places to sit in awe of the Pacific Ocean.

We were under the wrong impression that Casa Romantica had something to do with Richard Nixon, and since we follow the Presidents, we were curious. The view from the back of Casa Romantica is outstanding. I could have stared all day, but the memorabilia inside is not that interesting. There is a short video to begin that is worth seeing,... I think it is worth the $5.00 admission to see the view from the ocean side of the Casa. It is bare bones furnished so you can't necessarily see how it once looked and I was told that one wing had been removed. It is a lovely building with nice gardens.

A very nice place to spend a couple of hours. Well worth the $5 admission. Take the time to read the information displays. Enjoy the view from every room. Most of what you see is the result of restoration, but so wonderful to imagine how it might have been. Notice the restored oak floors laid down with dowels like a... More

I was taken to Casa Romantica by my parents who were staying in San Clemente for the month. It is located on a hill overlooking the beach, in the middle of a subdivision - so easily overlooked if you weren't expecting it. The website didn't do it justice by half! A gorgeous art installation was on display in one room,... More

We stumbled on this beautiful home just driving around the city on our way from San Diego to LA. Glad we stopped by. Took some beautiful pictures of the gardens, some that will definitely be framed. If you find yourself in the area - don't miss this bit of cultural history.

This is a little bit art center, a little bit arboretum, a historical building, a great place to hear music, a small, tasteful place for community events (or private events). And a wonderful place to stop and think during a busy day or week. Go there. Be surprised. Support a valuable community institution.
