We really enjoyed our visit to the San Clemente fishing pier. We viewed a beautiful sunset while watching surfers ride the waves. Then we enjoyed a spontaneous visit to the pizza place right at the base of the pier. Delicious microbrews and wines as well as notable homemade pizzas. Truly an enjoyable evening at the pier.

Great place to watch the sunset. Parking can be difficult when it is warm and it is tourist season. You can park up by the library and walk down. It is great to eat and drink at the Fisherman. It is sometimes is difficult to get an outside seat which is the best way to see the sunset. The clam... More

wow, walked on the san clemente pier yesterday, 8/27/14, waves so high they were lapping up onto the bottom of the pier decking. they said that the waves were the largest in years. beautiful but a little scary. a good walk, almost a 1/2 mile up and back. good food at the end.

Sunsets and people watching. Parking is free after 5pm. It gets cold at sunset so bring a jacket! Love The Fisherman restaurant located right on the pier. Wear flat shoes... Bumpy wooden boards not friendly with high heels. And watch the pigeons up high on the lamp posts. They seem to have a knack for pooping on unsuspecting tourists!

I had researched somewhere to take a break between LA and San Diego. I wanted somewhere with a beach for the kids to enjoy, easy to navigate to, and photogenic as I'm a photographer. I hit the jackpot here, great beach although the sand is a little course, good amenities, easy to find free parking, and an amazing pier with... More

Beautiful, scenic pier with a couple of restaurants right at the entrance. Great for walks, jogs, and fishing. The only negative to mention were all the bird droppings as you approach the end of the pier... but still nice nonetheless.

San Clemente Pier and Beach was a wonderful experience. The pier gives you a nice long walk with nice views. The beach is very nice with good food options. The water is a little rough for little ones. You can watch surfers or bodyboard. Lifeguards were very attentive. Recommend this beach.
