Those sports car events quickly outgrew the public roads of the Del Monte Forest and a beautiful new road facility was born on November 9, 1957.Since then, Monterey has been visited by some of the most prestigious racers in history; Roger Penske, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Kenny Roberts, Bobby Rahal, Wayne Rainey and Valentino Rossi to name a few. The late 60's and 1970's may be remembered as the "Can-Am Years," but it was also the debut of Trans Am, IMSA and AMA motorcycles. CART Indy Car racing and Grand Prix Motorcycling put their stamp on the track in the 80's and 90's. More recently, the huge evolution MotoGP has created a phenomenal global following for the track.Today, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts five world-class race weekends each season, with elite road racing series from around the world visiting the Monterey Peninsula every year. « less

I've been attending races here since it opened and took over for the legendary Pebble Beach road course. in 1957. A number of years ago they made an infield loop to lengthen the layout (Used to be a large circular loop) which increases the amount of track you see from most vantages. A great venue which is well managed with... More

My son-in-law and grandson invited me to attend this event - it was my first visit. The raceway event was very well-organized and the weather was perfect. We parked in the "Corral" zone and, to gain a better close-up view of the cars and their drivers, stationed ourselves at a vantage point on the "corkscrew" portion of the raceway. The... More

This is a very up close and personal race track that never disappoints. We recommend buying a pass into one of the car corrals in order to have better seating. The hike to the Corkscrew should be done but it's very steep so not easy for those who have difficulty with uphill hiking.

We came here on midweek and there was a motorcycle riding school going on. I was able to go everywhere (except the track) and really take it all in! I've never been here but have watched televised races from here. It was really amazing to see it firsthand!

We went for the July 2014 AMA Superbike races and had a blast. The workers there are quite rude and couldn't answer a question without much attitude. Everything else was great! Good food selections, tons of facilities and plenty of parking - slow to enter (those pesky workers), quick to exit.

Whether you are a race enthusiast or not, this one needs to be on your bucket list. In addition to being a beautiful setting, there are tons of things to do besides watching the races while you're at Mazda Raceway. Lots of choices for food and beverage, even a wine bar and places to shop. What's really great about the... More

As long as the weather is good and the wind stays calm you will have a great day. Great viewing everywhere and some spots are practically touching the track. Top of the hill above turn one has the best views. Love this place. It's worth the 750 mile drive.

The Annual Sea Otter Classic is held each April at Laguna Seca Raceway. This is an amazing venue for events of any kind. I love to watch the road races, just as much as I haves loved watching the cars zoom around the track. It's definitely worth checking out the schedule of events if you are in the area.

I had a terrific time at an HPDE organized by Hooked on Driving. I have been a spectator here many times but this is my first time on track. What fun.

Parked our RV trailer here for the weekend. Place is quiet with bathrooms and showers. It has water and electric hookups, and nearby dumping station. Beautiful place to camp, yet gives you access to the Monterey Bay!
