Description: The Monterey Peninsula's love affair with world-class racing traces its...
The Monterey Peninsula's love affair with world-class racing traces its beginnings to the inaugural running of the Pebble Beach Road Races in 1950. Those sports car events quickly outgrew the public roads of the Del Monte Forest and a beautiful new road facility was born on November 9, 1957.Since then, Monterey has been visited by some of the most prestigious racers in history; Roger Penske, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Kenny Roberts, Bobby Rahal, Wayne Rainey and Valentino Rossi to name a few. The late 60's and 1970's may be remembered as the "Can-Am Years," but it was also the debut of Trans Am, IMSA and AMA motorcycles. CART Indy Car racing and Grand Prix Motorcycling put their stamp on the track in the 80's and 90's. More recently, the huge evolution MotoGP has created a phenomenal global following for the track.Today, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts five world-class race weekends each season, with elite road racing series from around the world visiting the Monterey Peninsula every year.

The race track has been around since the 50's and it never fails to produce some of the best racing world wide, So many places to watch the races from and a great selection of corporate viewing areas as well. Access to view the race cars up close and a great selection of memorabilia.

A very nice track, very popular with both spectators & drivers alike. I competed there myself many years ago; lots of fun! Home of the famous "corkscrew"- now turn 8A- at the top of the hill, it's a very nice place to visit during one of the many events, both amateur & pro alike. Most events have lots of features-... They have handicap parking There are trolleys that will pick you up in the parking lot and bring you down to the entrance(not required, but a donation is appreciated). It is loud and crowded, my kind of place! The only thing that is lacking is shade, any shade, because there isn't any. It wouldn't stop me from going, but some... More

We stopped in coming from Monterey since that was rained out. Easy to come in, no fee. Has plenty of viewpoints to check out and sits on a national forest for a nice view. There was an AMG workshop day so the Mercedez were learning autocross and running the track.

You can easily come to the track as a quest. The are some view points for taking some pictures. In the center of the track there is a store to buy some nice suveniers for the motor enthousiastics back home.

A great location, great weather, and the beautiful Monterey Bay minutes away. What more could you ask for in a race venue. A bucket list location for a racing enthusiast.

A totally different track and surroundings from what we have in the Southeast. The track was challenging for the drivers. The views were awesome.

Access to the paddock and ease of movement around the track. Food vendors are reasonably priced for the venue, and the beer garden was well priced with an excellent selection. Track announcers very informative about current events around the track.
