Was in the area on business and ended up with a free day, so I decided to take an unplanned visit to Napa. Had read about Ballentine Vineyards so we decided to drop in. Quality of wines was amazing, I especially liked the Zins but the Cabernet and Petite Syrah were also great. Kym was a great host, very knowledgeable,... More

A friend wanted us to pick up a bottle of her favorite wine (Ballentine Merlot) So we decided to go in for a tasting. The staff was so nice and helpful! We walked out with several bottles of wine...Cabernet, Petite Syrah, Zinfandel...even the Chenin blanc was a awesome surprise (great summer wine or with spicy food!) they were all fabulous!... More

Nice range of wines - try the Zinfadels and crisp whites. Always a good vibe in the tasting room. Wine club is very good.

We found this place through platypus tours. We purchased the petite Syrah - drank it and went back for more. We took a bottle to Hawaii with us - drank it - now wish I had more...it's right out of the bottle good. Loved this and priced right.

Our B&B in Napa recommended this winery to use. We had never heard of it but it was suggested so we gave it a shot. We ended up really liking this winery. It is really small and does require an appointment for tastings though. We tasted a flight of wines and were even fortunate to have an extra sample. This... More

We were first introduced to Ballentine when my parents had a case shipped to our house several years ago because they weren't able to ship wine to the state in which they were living. Of course we "charged" them a one bottle fee for this service. :) We had our first taste of Ballentine wine then, the most delicious Cabernet... More

Do plan ahead as they are open by appointment. We had a lovely time chatting with Kim in the tasting room. She has lived in the area for a long time and really knows the valley and the wines. Ballentine had some great offerings and for a reasonable price.

This small winery has fantastic wines! I don't claim to be a pro, but I do know what I like~ and they are my new favorite!

We toured this little winery with Platypus tours. Our guide, Scott, has a great relationship with many wineries. He took us for a tour of the production facilities and arranged for a couple barrel samplings. Kim at the tasting counter was so fun and very knowledgable. We met the couple that owns the winery. Very sweet, friendly people. Great Port!... More
