We decided to get our Napa visit off to an early start by visiting Duckhorn, which is at the northern end of the valley, for a 10am tasting. We were not disappointed. A super friendly staff checked us in, took a 2 for 1 e-coupon with no questions and had us quickly seated on the porch. The porch and the... More

This winery is by reservation only, but reservations can be easily made on their website via OpenTable. Budget about 1hr for the tasting and exploring the gorgeous grounds/gardens. Not usually a part of their main tasting selection, but ask to try the Cabernet Franc! It's delicious with full bodied cherry notes! You won't regret it.

We did the $30 portfolio tasting and thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and sipping lots of great wine. Our server was Lauren, who did a really nice job talking about the wines and even brought an extra tasting of some special wine that had been opened the day before for an event. We did not feel rushed, and... More

Reservation only tasting. A great little tour of the vats area and an expected education on all the different types of rocks throughout the region that affect the taste. The tasting was in a large boardroom where we were all seated and given nice cheeses/crackers specifically suited for the various wines. It was very relaxed, fun, and organized. A wonderful... More

Duckhorn has one of the most fabulous tasting experiences in all of Napa Valley. It's one I look forward to every time I visit. You must have a reservation to taste here so be sure to call ahead. Even with a reservation, be prepared to wait. Thank goodness we showed up over 10 minutes early for our reservation because the... More

I had been served a Duckhorn wine in an LA hotel, so went to try a tasting at the winery. This is a quality wine and fairly expensive, so we paid our fee and sat down to sample. Jennifer was very knowledgable and entertaining as we tried 6 different selections. We were under no pressure to buy and exchanged opinions... More

We've enjoyed their wines in the past and made a point to visit this trip. Jessica served us in the tasting room which is quite different than those typical in the valley. Inside private tables or on the veranda at private tables with water and bread sticks to consume between tastings. Being hard core Cab and Pinot drinkers we were... More

We visited Sunday 11 May for the afternoon wine tasting session, and because we were a large group of 8 adults - we were seated outside on th patio. Strangely enough - our female server continued to pour wine in the same glass. When I specifically asked her if we can change the glasses because we were being served both... More

This was a great experience! I had a reservation, not sure if that was necessary but I wanted to ensure there was no problem with availability. After our first glass of Chardonnay was handed to us, we were taken to a table out on the beautiful porch for our tasting. They poured four different wines, two that are readily available,... More
