Last time we were here the tasting room was in an old house that was kind of funky. They have renovated the lovely old building and turned it into a gorgeous tasting room. We were greeted by a friendly woman (I forgot to get her name) who told us about the property. It is part of the Peter Mondavi estate.... More

We stopped at Charles Krug since we were familiar with the brand and it was right on our road. We were not disappointed. They have a beautiful tasting room. Our server actually allowed us to split the tasting between the two of us -- so we paid a single $20 fee and tasted the same wine between us. Worked great!... More

We did the limited release tasting and of course were not disappointed in the quality and taste of wine. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and took the time to walk us through all of the wines. We were during off season - but we would imagine during regular season this place will get packed.

So many choices in the valley but this one has some history being one of the first in the valley. The building is impressive with comfortable charm. The tasting room has a large bar area but warm and inviting. The tasting charge is not outrageous and requires no reservation to visit. The gal pouring was friendly and informative. Wine prices... I first visited this winery in August of 2013. At that time, their tasting room was in, well, a trailer home of sorts. It was a very small space and even a little run-down, but the wines made all the difference in the world. I had a Zin that was so delicious it is now my favorite varietal. Our hostess... More

What a beautiful interior winery which is hidden from the highway. What makes this place even more charming is the warm welcome from Brian Y. who gives the history Of Charles Krug Winery. There's a large lovely area for wine tasting whether standing at the bar or sitting in the over-sized comfortable chairs in the atrium.

We were recommended to visit this winery by the concierge at our hotel in Napa and I am delighted we dropped by. Really informative and very knowledgeable staff made the experience worthwhile and we bought a few special bottles to take home and they made it! Looking forward to drinking them soon.... Thank you

This newly renovated oldest winery that goes back to 1870's survived the earth quake damage confined to shaking glass. This visit fascinating. Lighting is Russian buoy cut in half hoisted in position by three men. Walls are repurposed barns. Cabernet Sauvignon is specialty of this winery. Return? Yes. Recommend? Yes.
