This is a place that you'd probably miss unless someone told you about it. It's a couple of blocks off the main drag. We discovered it with Karl from Platypus Tours. The tasting took place behind the family home, under and arbor next to the pool. Fred, the host, is well worth the visit. (We plan to visit A-M on... More

This little place is off the radar of most - we found it through our driver who recommended it as a smaller place to visit. Fred was our server - a delightfully ornery yet helpful guy who sounds a bit like Jack Nicholson at his best and was very knowledgable about the wines. This place is just a few tables... More

He says: We visited A-M last week and enjoyed a wonderful morning tasting and seminar by the pool with Fred. Whatever you read about Fred in the other reviews are probably true. He made A-M one of our favorite stops during our visit. A perfect combination of enthusiasm, education and bs. And yes, the wine was very good too. We... More

This small winery and vineyard was among our favorites of the trip! Beautiful setting, private tasting by the pool with great wine discussion. The Illiad is unlike anything I've ever tasted and the Syrah turned me into a Syrah-lover. Great tasting, great staff. Tasting fee waived with purchase

Sat out on the porch and tasted six wines, tasting fee waived with a purchase. Loved the Petite Syrah, the white and red blends were nice as well. Great off the beaten path stop!

Wonderful and informative staff. Found all their wines very drinkable. No bitterness or tannin after-taste. Just a little vineyard but well worth visiting. Ask for Fred. Brought home several bottles of Illiad and Cab.

We didn't go here with platypus tours like most others - it's a family owned vineyard, where Vince, the winemaker, sat down with us during the tasting at the table next to the pool. He was a pleasure to chat with and the wines were quite tasty. This is not your giant commercial winery, it's a relaxed place to sip... More

This place was recommended to us by our Napa tour guide. Atmosphere was great. Casual, laid back pool side tasting beside the families house. Complete with Cinnamon, the family dog, just in case you're missing a friend from back home. We generally liked all of the wines: yummy and affordable. Our favourites were the Illiad (such a unique flavor profile);... More

Recently went with some friends to this winery. Arger Martucci is a bit off the beaten path (well, actually, just a few blocks off the main drag in St Helena). Ambience is a bit understated. Somewhat feels like you are drinking wine in someone's back yard but that's just fine given how good their wines are. Their servers pour your... More

My husband and I went to Arger-Martucci based on the recommendation of someone staying at our B+B who happened to work in the wine business. WOW are we gladed we listened to their rave reviews about this winery. If you are looking for grandiose views from a tram, large crowds and high tasting fees this is not the place for... More
