The Schweiger vine-yards is situated about 7 miles off the main-road and 2000 ft up in the mountains in St.Helena.This is a small family owned wineary and makes about 5000 cases a year.It is almost like an exclusive private wine-tasting tour and we had the place for our-selves for over 60 minutes. The Supervisor in-charge was very friendly and help-ful.Pror appointment... My wife and I had spent afew days in St Helena and we had booked to visit the Schweiger Vineyard and we weren't disappointed. We had a private tasting on their balcony with Wendy who was totally amazing. She even showed us down where the barrels were being filled. It was a magical experience and we would thoroughly recommend it... More

This is a lovely little family winery. Their wines are delicious but the tour wasn't as sophisticated as others we have been on. Truly enjoyed hearing the work that goes into such a family business -- and the family is very nice.

a group of of 9 friends visited, picnicked and tasted great wines. The family influence is palpable and greatly appreciated. The views are magnificent and the wine as good. Loved the Malbec and although a Red wine guy I really enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc. Fred and Sally - the owners are charming and very open to discussing the details of... More

I have to concur with the vast majority of these reviews. It was a totally different and superior experience to the mobbed impersonal tasting rooms in the valley. Wonderful view, fabulous wines, (still a member 2 yrs later) and amazing people.I have to share a story with you. I am an avid amateur photographer, and upon taking in the view... More

If you need to choose only one winery to visit, this is the one. Warm and welcoming. Absolutely beautiful location. It is smaller and friendlier than man of the larger wineries, but this allows for personal attention and a special and unique experience. I cannot wait to go back.

We went to Schweirger based of the other reviews and it did not disappoint. Not only do they have amazing views, but we also saw the owner hard at work, which is pretty rare if you ask me. We were greated right when we pulled up with glasses of wine already poured. Then escorted out on a patio over looking... More

I asked the hotel to recommend a winery that not everyone visits and they enthusiastically recommended Schweiger. It is about a 5 mile drive up a (good) mountain road from St Helena but worth the trip as the wines and the views are both spectacular. On a Friday in April we were the only visitors between noon and 2 pm... More

After having made an appointment before we began our trip (a must) we arrived at the appointed time in a driving rain. Announcing ourselves at the gate we were admitted and directed to the main office/tasting room. We were warmly greeted by a lady, a friendly dog and a gentleman, who started off with an introduction to Schweiger. The lady... More
