The California Delta offers you a deep understanding of the balance between California's need for a more modern water delivery system, recreation, nature, and national security. It is a very beautiful place on earth. Agriculture is clustered amidst the many Delta Islands with delicate levies protecting the farms, as well as, the network of gas and oil pipelines underneath. Wildlife... More

The California Delta is where the Sacramento River meets water coming from the San Francisco and Suisun Bays. There is a world of sloughs, open water and blinds. The Delta is home to many species of fish and birds, especially water fowl. It could take a lifetime to explore the entire Delta. You can waterski, fish or just relax on... More

The Delta area is a wonderful place to explore. Much of this area of canals and waterways were built by the Chinese laborers in the 1800s and some of their old original towns still exist along some of the Delta canals. Check out the old bridges near the towns which are mostly over 100 years old. Very interesting old bridges.... More

Folks tend to miss this treasure. Be sure to see Locke, Rio Vista, Ryde and Walnut Grove. Have lunch or whatever at the Ryde Hotel where there are tunnels to escape the revenuers. Check out the wineries in Clarksburg. More

The Delta is HUGE, no other way to describe it. I've been traveling in it, around it and on it for many many years and have still not seen it all, probably never will. ANY water sport can be done here and is. Fishing is great, boating is great, swiming is great, driving the levies is great, motorcycle trips around... More

We come out here on our boat in the summer. It has it's own unique beauty and charm. The area has been hit quite hard by the economy, but still a cool place to visit.
