Although the museum doesn't change much the exhibits are kept fresh and current. A great service to our taxpaying public.

The park behind the museum has a gazillion varieties of trees, and arborists scattered hither and yon to answer questions.

This building has maintained much of its original character. Surrounded by beautiful parks and gardens, it is a must-see!

It's a beautiful building, great guide. Busy because of committee hearings on a controversial issue.

Am always amazed at how many people think LA or San Fran are the Capitol of CA. Even people who live in Sac. do not visit. The grounds are beautiful with so much to enjoy or just to sit and watch. Sometimes you may even catch a special event. The building itself is full of history. You can take private... More

The Saturday of May 9, 2015, walking around as they setting up for AMGEN TOUR! Ask the person how much is the shirt, he says he will give to me! Not realizing is a red Volunteer shirt! Went into Capitol Building, use bathroom, take 10:00 a.m. tour! Tour guide named Joseph W, short yellow hair! May only be his third... More

Located in the centre of this beautiful city, the State Capitol dominates the delightful parkland around it. I didn't take the tour but spoke to several of the staff and attendants who were all very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. After entering the main lobby on the ground floor and guessing the people in the centrepiece statue, take the elevator to... More

The State Capitol has tours available and docents to give you information in the rotunda and basement of the old capitol buildings. When I was in Sacramento, there was an exhibition celebrating the 1915 Worlds Faire held in San Francisco aka the Pan Pacific Exhibition. The restored rooms show how things were in the beginning and how the Treasurers office... More

Each time we visit Sacramento, we make a point of visiting the Capitol building. The first time we were there, we did the guided tour which was very informative. Since then, we've enjoyed just wandering around on our own.

I came on a weekend as someone said the chambers were open on tour. However our tour guide said visitors were welcome in the gallery during the week when in session as well (maybe they don't let the tours in?) Anyways, the entrance is on the side and there is a metal detector. You can walk around by yourself but... More
