If you are in the sacramento area the capitol is well worth a couple of hours. The grounds are immaculate and on a nice day it is a great place to walk around. If you are into history and government the building is a must see.

The Museum houses detailed history of California, from the indigenous population, early settlers, development, etc, etc. Loved the antiques, offices that still maintained their 'old' look and everything in here!

We visited the Capitol on a very rainy Sunday, not knowing it would be open to tour. What a great surprise to find it open, uncrowded and free! We spent about two hours checking everything out, and could have stayed longer, but got a late start and had other places we wanted to see. All the history is amazing and... More

Very educational. Beautiful and well kept. The grounds were beautiful as well. The parking was hard to find, but worth it.

We tried to view this historical and gorgeous building. Unfortunately, there is no available parking. The handful of parking spaces in front of the building were full and there was no alternate parking anywhere near. We were able to get a picture of this magnificent building from down the street. It's sad that we weren't able to touch our feet... More

Both from the outside and inside, this is a great building. You can see a gorgeous area with stained glass cupola and historic statue, as well as exhibits for each region of California in recessed, glass-enclosed display cases along several hallways, featuring the main highlights of each area. No admission fee, but airport-like screening upon entry.

If you are visiting Sacramento, this is one of the attractions to see. Even if you live here, you should check it out. The tours are informational and interesting.

Powerful!!! Beautiful!!! Magical Garden!!! There are so many places to explore inside the building as well as outside. Cspitol park has a great variety of trees and a nice Rose garden. Hang out in the Capitol hallways to hear deals being made. Sit in on hearings to watch laws being made.

When we visited this museum during the sunset. The environment was very pleasant with a breeze of afternoon winter in Sacramento. We took some pictures outside the building. It was very wonderful, especially with the christmas tree in front of the building. Very nice pics...
