A Walk in the Capitol Park is relaxing, the rose garden is just beautifully, also the amazing trees some have stunning branches worth seeing. Statues and the Capitol complete the whole picture of Downtown relaxing.

Really enjoy walking around here, the only thing I would like is to have there more like when it starts getting dark, I think a lot of people would benefit from it and maybe make our city more enjoyable even after dark.

We stopped over in sacramento for a day or so for a break in touring. It was so quiet at the weekend but great. We spent the day just wandering around, first through Capitol Park which was very interesting with all it's memorials, then a free look inside the Capitol itself. I particularly liked the older rooms on show. We... More

I visited the beautiful Capitol Park on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. I lead a group of young girls age 8-11 years old for my church, and I was interested in bringing the girls to the gardens to check out the interesting plants and flowers. I recently read in the Sacramento Bee how the use of pesticides has been linked to... More

Beautiful grounds surrounding the capitol building. Have a picnic or pick up something from a local restaurant. No booze ( lots of cops) which also make it safe. Tours of the capitol are free.

The rose garden is so beautiful, especially in Spring before the heat of summer sets in. So many beautiful varieties, colors and smells. Sit on one of many benches, around fountain and just relax. It is so nice to live in a city where we can walk to these grounds, with monuments and memorials in place like the Viet Nam... More

I have sat on a bench in the park and "people watched" while I had my lunch. I walked around the park and enjoyed seeing the hundreds of different varities of trees. The rose garden is on the east side and is well kept. See if you can find a name on the Vet Memorial from your home county. It... More

If you visit the state capitol make time for the surrounding gardens. In spring many plants are flowering and the trees, some a hundred years or older are beautiful. I one had an office in the capitol and looked out on a great magnolia tree that bloomed in the spring.

This park is located just behind the State Capitol. In the day time it's great to walk through. CHP officers on horseback patrol the park. Visit the Vietnam War memorial at the corner of K and 14th for sure. In the middle of the park visit the Firefighters' Memorial. (A touching memorial for fallen police officers is across the street... More
