It is always fun to walk around the Capitol building and grounds. As other reviewers noted, there are many species of trees most with labels to identify them. There are me rials throughout the park as well. I have gone to the rose garden when it is in full bloom and taken photos there. The Park has a succulent area... More

Very well kept landscape and the building was awesome. Huge amount of grass and trees. Easy to get good photographs of the Capitol building.

Lovely mature downtown park. Enjoy a picnic lunch, squirrels and people watch and then walk the park. A great day out!

Capitol Park was designed to have one of the largest varieties of trees almost anywhere! Perhaps you did not know that Sacramento has one of the widest varieties of trees nationally--and Capitol Park is a mini-version of that fact! Many trees are marked with the name of the species, for the scientists among you. For the history-lovers, you can be... More

A Walk in the Capitol Park is relaxing, the rose garden is just beautifully, also the amazing trees some have stunning branches worth seeing. Statues and the Capitol complete the whole picture of Downtown relaxing.

Really enjoy walking around here, the only thing I would like is to have there more like when it starts getting dark, I think a lot of people would benefit from it and maybe make our city more enjoyable even after dark.

We stopped over in sacramento for a day or so for a break in touring. It was so quiet at the weekend but great. We spent the day just wandering around, first through Capitol Park which was very interesting with all it's memorials, then a free look inside the Capitol itself. I particularly liked the older rooms on show. We... More

I visited the beautiful Capitol Park on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. I lead a group of young girls age 8-11 years old for my church, and I was interested in bringing the girls to the gardens to check out the interesting plants and flowers. I recently read in the Sacramento Bee how the use of pesticides has been linked to... More
