This gem is right in front of the Capitol and is full of beautiful trees, monuments and a rose garden. It's a nice place for walking dogs or eating lunch on a park bench. There's plenty of history to take in as well. It's worth the time.

We loved being able to smell all the roses in the rose garden, walk under the orange trees, and see the turtles in the little pond. It was educational too as they have plaques and statues with influential people in California history.

I assume this means the grounds on the outside. We got a map inside the building for the outside. It has a wide variety of trees and the grounds are pretty large. I found the inside of the building to be more interesting than the outside, but it's worth stopping on the outside and taking a picture if you are... More

The park has many different kinds of trees that are labeled. There's also a monument to veterans. You can watch some neat birds and the squirrels.

Great even in time of drought. We enjoyed it and made a lot of great pictures. It's a good place for walks and relaxing.

I absolutely love the Capital Park and Gardens, It's chalk full of huge trees of all kinds and they're all labeled. Also, they have rose gardens that are stunning. It's a great place to relax or bring the family to.

This is a great place to check out downtown Sacramento. There are many interesting plaques/monuments to "Fallen State Worker's". The grounds are very popular with the local residents and state workers, that walk the grounds during lunch. Many great photo ops are waiting for you.

I visited the Sacramento Capitol, it is a very interesting experience. You can visit it on your own, or you can get great benefit from (and enjoy) the free guided tours, that start every hour at the top of the hour (9.00 ... 17.00 if I am not wrong). Very well cured park all around,. I strongly recommend it.
