I have season tickets and love my seats, however I agree it needs to be renovated. The orchestra seats are not very convenient if you seat in the middle.
I am a season ticket holder for the Broadway Sacramento musical series every year, and have found this venue to be an very enjoyable theatre for watching live performances. It's getting old, and probably due for a makeover, but it's still just fine. I've visited this theatre for many, many years for a variety of performances, and always feel comfortable... More
Went there to see "The Buddy Holly Story" and enjoyed the show. The theater I did not hate, but there were some things that should have been better. First, they open the doors to the entry area at 7:00pm. It was hot while milling around the entry area and felt like there was not any circulation. They opened the auditorium... More
Best thing this place has going for it is location accross from the capital park which provides a nice walk to free evening parking. The seats not bad and sight lines were good. However, we went to Prarie Home Companion traveling show in July and was shocked how fuzzy the sound was. In June, we went to Mondavi Hall in... More
My daughter and I drove up from Fresno to see Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion--Radio Romance" tour show on 7/11. As my title says-- this was our first time at this theater and we were impressed-- it's an attractive venue. Us sitting together at shows is not a big deal. My daughter is the bigger fan of Garrison's show... More
The seats in orchestra were comfortable and it seemed the views were good everywhere. It is a good place for plays and it is easy getting in and going out. Parking was close and there is a great view of the capitol building.

Although the stage was small, the director made the most of it and along with the set designers, made this production a winner. I had a middle seat on the top tier but could see everything. The space between my seat and the person... More
This is a great venue for Broadway touring companies or concerts. There is not a bad seat in the house. Accoustics are very good and you are allowed to buy drinks and bring them to your seat. There is no center aisle so you have to climb over a lot of people to get out but that's the price for... More
