Great Place for Medium Size Expositions and Events

Just returned from another great art show at the convention center. The center itself is just fine. Clean, plenty of bathrooms, good security, excellent staff support, and plenty... read more

This was a very nice, well kept, large facility for a conference that I was there attending. I really enjoyed my time there, and everything was kept clean, including the bathrooms. Parking leaves much to be desired though. There is no convention center parking, so you have to park on the street or in paid lots around the area, which... More

We saw "Wicked" last May. Show was great. However, I will hesitate before I attend another Broadway event at the Community Center because there was too much noise after intermission from people eating! People bought candy, etc. in the lobby during intermission and were allowed to bring their snacks into the theater. Lots of rustling of wrappers and people chewing.... More

Just returned from another great art show at the convention center. The center itself is just fine. Clean, plenty of bathrooms, good security, excellent staff support, and plenty of downtown restaurants nearby. On street parking is available but be careful as they patrol and ticket constantly. Heck, the city needs the money. Enough paid parking nearby. Not San Francisco parking... More

I attended a scientific conference here earlier in the year. The building is a nice space, easy to navigate, and arranged well with space outside the meeting rooms for breaks, etc. On-site Starbucks and food outlets were ok, and there are lots of places close by too. There are lots of signs saying that no outside food or drinks are... More

We've enjoyed going to the Convention Center for many programs, including ballet, musical programs, and motorcycle shows. It's an all purpose facility that seems to do its job well. The Theatre is well maintained and has good acoustics for music. There can be a problem with lines in the women's bathrooms, as many reviewers have noted, but the over all... More

Great venue for conventions or theater. Get there early, drop off passengers and park on street 3 or 4 blocks toward G street. Have a stroll back. On weekends there are lots of flat rate parking lots a little closer.

The performance was wonderful, but acoustics are lacking. Not enough bathrooms for the amount of time , great seating. ** NO one under 4 allowed, but they allowed it.

Wicked was fantastic, but the Community Center was very HOT, everyone was fanning and we felt sorry for the actors in their heavy costumes. Also there are not nearly enough womens bathrooms, even if you rush out there are impossible lines on both floors. The usher told us we could walk next door to convention center (in 105 degree heat)... More

My daughter and I saw Wicked - an AMAZING show! - at the Sacramento Convention Center this weekend and it was an overall really good experience. The seats were comfortable and the sound system was better than I expected. The temperature was also very comfortable. I was expecting it to be chilly. The only two downfalls to the whole evening... Enjoyed our experience at the Sacramento Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra held at the Community Center. We sat close so the sound was especially strong. One singer did have difficulty when he sang from the back area of the stage. Might need improved acoustics.
