This really is a huge park with ponds (not worthy of fishing in for us), picnic areas, golf course, fairy tale land, zoo and small amusement park. Big plus is parking is free which we found to be rare in California. Nice way to spend a couple of hours with the kids.

The park covers an area of at least a square mile and walking through the park you can almost forget that you are in an urban setting. There are at least two lakes, a municipal golf course, walking trails and numerous picnic facilities as well as a small performance center. We missed it but there is also Shakespeare in the... More

Thanks to the generosity and foresight of William Land, who donated the cash along with the requirements that a public space be created for the use of all people, we have a local treasure in the form of "Land Park." It's big - more than 200 acres, about five times the size of McKinley Park. All that open space allows... More

I am somewhat biased towards this wonderful park as I only live 2 blocks away. My children have gone to Zoo Camp at the Sacramento Zoo, spent many a summer at the rides and at Fairytale Town and played Little League. Concerts are held at various places in the park and there is nothing nicer that a picnic while watching... More

This is a beautiful park with lots to do. Mature trees give plenty of shade. Golf course, Funderland (for the little ones) and the zoo. Lots of nearby restaurants. You can spend the whole day. Great for large group picnics.

Nice place for a morning stroll. Lots of things for the family and large groups. Nice little pond but could use some cleaning up. The ducks are kinda "stuck-up". Worth a visit!

Land Park is our central park. It houses the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale town, Funderland, a golf course, picnic areas, a fishing pond, an outdoor Sheakspeare theater and plenty of place to picnic, play soccer/baseball... It's what we call home - great place to raise your kids.

Because it is such a good venue it is overused. Security is also a concern as it is not to far from the bum highway (river bike path). But the Zoo is safe and secure as well as Fairytale Town, both great places to go with the family. If the City spent a little more time on the grounds and... More

This park really has something to offer all its visitors. Kids have Fairytale Town, the Sacramento Zoo, Funderland all close by. Adults get a golf course. It's all about family fun. A picnic, people-watching, etc. Whatever you choose, it will be a leisurely day. A great place for birthday parties!

A free-entry large park just south of downtown Sacramento, this gem is a great getaway for a walk, an outside lunch, or jog, or just a breather. The park offers a zoo, a golf course, a childrens park, and lots of open area for bbq, baseball, an outside theatre, and a few duck ponds. A must is a beautiful plant/rock... More
