I had not been to the Sacramento Zoo in a while so we visited over Labor Day. They have done improvements I really like what they have done with the giraffe exhibit, very large platform and a small fee you can feed them. They have more construction going on too. It is a small zoo which helps when you have... More

My husband and I just recently visited the Zoo for an afternoon outing. We hadn’t been there for at least 10 years and had heard they had made improvements since we moved from the Land Park area. When traveling, if we have time, we enjoy spending an afternoon in some of the cities who have operating Zoo’s. What a surprise... More

The new giraffe platform is wonderful. For $3, you can feed a giraffe. They are so beautiful. Volunteers on sight to answer questions. An owl named "Sapphire" had a wonderful helper. A beautiful park to walk around. It is small and easily done in a couple of hours. Go early to beat the heat and crowds. Keep a picnic lunch... More

Even though we have teenagers we all really enjoyed the zoo. It's in a beautiful part of town. Parking can be a walk but it's through a park so there's plenty of shade walking there. It's a pretty impressive size given the location. We will return for another visit next time we're in town.

Great place to take children, variety of animals. Zoo is in bad need of upkeep, but again good place for children.

An average zoo, but the only one in town. Bring the kids and enjoy their smiles with the animals. There is a place for them to play and a place to run around on the lawns. Bring your camera

It may be small in comparison to metropolitan zoos, but it also is more visitor friendly and better for the youngsters that tire easily. It is a very good zoo for its category and well worth a visit for anyone, anytime. The snack available are reasonably priced and they have a great little gift shop. There is a bonus in... More

The zoo has a great variety of animals, reptiles, birds, etc. It is an easy walk, with great shade for the hot summer afternoons. The zookeepers seemed to be available to give info about animals and history. I really appreciated to zookeepers notes, which were written on white boards in some of the exhibits giving updated info about the animals.

This small zoo has quality exhibits and interesting animals. It's great for kids and adults. Laid out well, you can easily take your time wandering the paths between exhibits. They are doing some expansion this summer.
