Great place to take children, variety of animals. Zoo is in bad need of upkeep, but again good place for children.

An average zoo, but the only one in town. Bring the kids and enjoy their smiles with the animals. There is a place for them to play and a place to run around on the lawns. Bring your camera

It may be small in comparison to metropolitan zoos, but it also is more visitor friendly and better for the youngsters that tire easily. It is a very good zoo for its category and well worth a visit for anyone, anytime. The snack available are reasonably priced and they have a great little gift shop. There is a bonus in... More

The zoo has a great variety of animals, reptiles, birds, etc. It is an easy walk, with great shade for the hot summer afternoons. The zookeepers seemed to be available to give info about animals and history. I really appreciated to zookeepers notes, which were written on white boards in some of the exhibits giving updated info about the animals.

This small zoo has quality exhibits and interesting animals. It's great for kids and adults. Laid out well, you can easily take your time wandering the paths between exhibits. They are doing some expansion this summer.

Visited the Sacramento zoo on a weekend morning before the weather got too hot. Had lunch at one of the cafes. Food was typical hamburgers, chicken fingers, fries but it was decent. Not a huge zoo, so would be good for very young children. The giraffe feeding was pretty cool. Yes, a lot of the animals were hiding or sleeping... More

Tucked in to a corner of Land Park, The Sacramento Zoo offers a nice way to spend a quiet morning. If you are able to, go early in the morning when the animals are feeding. The Zoo is a great place to take young children because of its size and wide paths.

The Sacramento Zoo was really small compared to zoos I've been to before. A lot of the animals weren't out because of the heat. I think kids would enjoy it here since it is so small.

I liked how you could get very up close and personal to the animals and displays. Amazing flamingos! Very green and beautiful-reminded me of Griffith Park in Los Angeles. A must see when traveling with children.

Small to average size zoo, easy to see the whole thing in a few hours. No elephants, rhinos or hippos. Great giraff exibit. Some of the bird enclosures are pretty old school, just wire enclosures. Overall nothing to write home about, but cirtainly not a waste of time if you are in the area. I should think kids would be... More
