Although a member of the zoo, I do not get a chance to visit often. For members in mid-December toys are 25% off. Best time to visit is Spring, Summer and Fall. Usually there are rainy days, but you can find a sunny day go. Across the Street is Story Town for young children. You can have a relaxing time... More

We went to the zoo for the annual gift opening by the animals, and it was very entertaining. The docents wander around giving talks and answering questions as do the Teen volunteers. The animals live in mostly good habitats, tho some seem a bit small, Siberian Tiger, for example, for those whose territory in real life is much larger. Overall,... More

Pick a nice day with the sun shining and a small friendly zoo and we got ourselves a nice way to have a quiet stroll around the various enclosures. OK it is small but that in a way adds to the occasion, there appeared to be plenty for parents with young children so a nice family place to visit. Most... More

Good variety of animals. They do a good job of trying to provide natural habitat for the wildlife. They have a lot of hands on events for children. Easy walking.

improvement since the last time we visited the Sacramento Zoo which had been many years ago. My daughter and her husband were here in Sacramento on a visit from the U.K. and this was the first time they had visited the zoo. I was very pleasantly surprised by what we saw and watching the big cats was almost a hypnotic... More

Haven't been to the Sac zoo in over a year, but last time I was there it was a good experience as far as learning about the animals origin and habitat. Having said that, there needs to be more space for these animals, especially the larger ones. I encourage all who really care about wild animals to visit/research, PAWS in... More

It was a small Zoo, but it was fun for our daughter to experience it. We finished rather quickly since our daughter isn't into reading facts yet since shes two, but it was enjoyable for us adults. I would recommend to see if your hotel was discounts to enter the zoo. Really helped with putting our money into purchasing things... More

Nice exhibits. Well laid out so it is easy to follow children from one animal to another without losing track of them and there is a small nice playground. Easy to see the big cats and most of the animals are viewable for toddlers in a stroller. Great way to spend half a day.

Not a very big zoo but a pretty good one. Best attraction is the giraffe exhibit. Our 3 little kids enjoyed it immensely. We also like the food. It seemed pretty reasonable priced, nice benches under the trees. We will definitely do back next year.
