generous amount of vehicles to see. fun for kids as well if for no other reason than the fire trucks tractors ect.
We took our pre-teens here, and we all had a blast! Don't rush through, lots to see, for all ages! From the very old cars, to the cool racers!
Young and old, car guys and gear heads along with the non-car enthusiast are in for a treat at the California Auto Museum. The museum chronicles the history of the automobile and it's impact on American life from the early 20th century to present day. New exhibits keep it fresh and interested for future visits. Currently displaying "It’s Electrifying! Alternative... More
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, you could be here all day. I thought my knowledge of classic cars was considerable, but I was wrong. They have a great selection of classic cars in mint condition, some in displays that take you back to the time they were state of the art. The docents were very knowledgeable, some of them... More
I really enjoyed this museum which had a very wide range on cars on display. The admittance cost ($7 adult) is very fair and worth it. It was fairly cold inside on the day we visited so dress appropriately.
A very diverse collection, from a Model T snowmobile to a Duesenburg, from an 1886 Benz replica to a Willys wagon and even a home built Cadillac Motorhome. A Lamborghini Countach, an Austin-Healy 3000 and a '54 Vette and many '30s, '40s, '50s and '60s American cars. All in all, a very enjoyable museum. The gift shop is reasonably priced.
Best for families or car buffs. Not much here, as a stand alone destination. One hour is plenty then off to Old Sacramento for a retail adventure. Really best as venue for fund raisers or other community events.
A world-class collection of classic and modern cars; a lot of them with interesting histories. There are knowledgeable and enthusiastic docents to either show you around or just give on-the-spot descriptions. The museum is within very easy reach of Old Sacramento. There is also a snack bar with vintage decor.
.Love this museum. Exhibits constantly change. Everyone in our family from the 2 1/2 year old to the 74 year old enjoys visits to this museum. If you like cars this is the place to find out lots of history and untold stories of the Automobile from the very beginning to modern day, from the Model T to the Tesla.
The cars are amazing. The guides were so awesome and described each car in great detail. Our visually impaired group was allowed to wear gloves they supplied to touch most of the cars. I was able to even sit in a few and pretend like I was driving again. The experience definitely brought out the kid in me. I had... More
