Description: Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring...
Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring budget even the name itself was ‘borrowed’ by combining Stag’s Leap, where John started his Napa Valley winemaking career, and the Frog Farm, where the early vintages were made. The winery was relocated in 1994 when John and his family moved Frog’s Leap to the historic Red Barn in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. This grand and welcoming building was built in 1884 as the Adamson Winery and sits amongst some of our 200 acres of estate grown vineyards. Over the past 30 years Frog’s Leap has earned an enviable reputation with our unique combination of a whimsical label, sincere dedication to sustainable principles and our small, handcrafted production of wines. Over the years to come we look forward growing and learning more about ourselves, our wines and how we can share it all with honesty and genuine hospitality.

Frog's Leap Winery was one of our favorite wineries visited during our Sonoma/Napa trip. We took a tour with Seth who was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He lead us all around the beautiful landscapes, vineyards, and organic gardens while serving wine and sharing the story of Frog's Leap Winery. It was the most educational tour we had taken in... Frogs Leap is top notch! Greeted by the adorable vineyard dog and were given hats upon entrance. The tour began with a glass of wine and a walk out to the vines. Our guide was friendly, knowledgable, and funny! This vineyard doesn't use any sprinklers and is 100% organic! They also have gardens on property. The tour was long and... More

I seriously don't know how to explain the experience you will have by visiting this amazing winery. Please know you MUST have an appointment to go. Abby the dog will show you a relaxing time as you sit and enjoy the day on the patio. The staff is amazing and the dog is just a bonus.

Visited with friends and had a nice time relaxing on the porch talking and enjoying their wines with a small but adequate cheese plate. Beautiful place and very friendly staff.

Frog's Leap was our group of 8's first stop on our day in Napa. Great visit! It is a charming winery, with great wines! We enjoyed every wine in our flight and Abbie, the winery dog, made our day even more special. Walk all around the grounds with your wine and be sure to see the winery rooster too! We... More

We had a tour and tasting with Kevin. He was very entertaining and very knowledgable about the whole winery and process. They have a lot more than just wine on their property and everything is very nice, country styled. I wasn't overly impressed with their wines but everyone has their own pallet. I definitely recommend coming here and taking the... More

I could wax poetic about this place for hours. What a class act all of the way around. Our first visit to this place was on a 50 th birthday. The staff were beyond charming, warm and friendly. They comped us the tasting as a birthday gift. They even gave the birthday boy a glass (not a tasting) of their... More

Beautiful scenery at this winery; you have to make a reservation but it was simple and easy to do online. We were set up on the porch for our tasting and could look out over the vines and hills. Great wines and the dog Abbie greets everyone. The house itself was nice also

I was so pleased to visit Frog's Leap to enjoy some of my favorite wines. You have to reserve ahead, but I urge you to do so if you are in the area. The tasting is generous and the setting lovely. Our docent welcomed us in the gorgeous great room of the winery and then spent nearly two hours taking... More
