Description: Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring...
Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring budget even the name itself was ‘borrowed’ by combining Stag’s Leap, where John started his Napa Valley winemaking career, and the Frog Farm, where the early vintages were made. The winery was relocated in 1994 when John and his family moved Frog’s Leap to the historic Red Barn in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. This grand and welcoming building was built in 1884 as the Adamson Winery and sits amongst some of our 200 acres of estate grown vineyards. Over the past 30 years Frog’s Leap has earned an enviable reputation with our unique combination of a whimsical label, sincere dedication to sustainable principles and our small, handcrafted production of wines. Over the years to come we look forward growing and learning more about ourselves, our wines and how we can share it all with honesty and genuine hospitality.

Beautiful scenery at this winery; you have to make a reservation but it was simple and easy to do online. We were set up on the porch for our tasting and could look out over the vines and hills. Great wines and the dog Abbie greets everyone. The house itself was nice also

I was so pleased to visit Frog's Leap to enjoy some of my favorite wines. You have to reserve ahead, but I urge you to do so if you are in the area. The tasting is generous and the setting lovely. Our docent welcomed us in the gorgeous great room of the winery and then spent nearly two hours taking... More

We had a great time at Frog's Leap. The grounds are beautiful. The staff was attentive and generous with their pours. We'd definitely go Back.

The Inn on Randolph got an appointment for us for a complimentary wine-tasting. We sampled four wines and loved them all. It was a relaxing place to kick back and enjoy a beautiful day. There was no high pressure sales pitch, which was much appreciated. We enjoyed our time sitting, and touring the grounds.

Do not miss, make your appointment ($20) for the basic tasting and enjoy the place. The do it right. Have a glass and wander around the grounds, yes, by yourself. View the stacked barrels, walk through fermentation, watch the guys, clean out the barrel and put the wine back in, or enjoy the grounds. Smart folks there. The grounds are... More

We had a 10am tasting. We were one of the first groups to be seated and sat in the shade as the day warmed up. We all enjoyed the grounds for about an hour as we walked around and sipped what was left. We bought many bottles of wine this week, but the only full case we ordered was from... More

This was my FAVORITE Winery!!! You must make an appointment but it is worth it. You are able to walk freely around the grounds. My husband and I visited a different section with each glass of wine in our flight (we sat on the Adirondack chairs over looking the fountain, rocked on the porch rocking chairs, walked through the vineyards,... The wine tour at Frog's Leap Winery was probably the best one I've experienced in Napa and Sonoma valleys. At only $25/person, your knowledgeable guide will show you around the beautiful lands, providing detailed education and history regarding the winery and their agricultural processes. It's the one tour that's completely generous with the wine you'll taste. Apparently, the owner doesn't... More

My wife and I had a group tasting at the Frog’s Leap Winery that was very well organized. We had our own table on their large porch next to the gardens that were very picturesque. The setting was very relaxed and comfortable. The various wines were brought to our table and the presentation was well executed and informative. The wines... More
