Description: Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring...
Frog’s Leap was founded by John Williams in 1981. Started on a shoestring budget even the name itself was ‘borrowed’ by combining Stag’s Leap, where John started his Napa Valley winemaking career, and the Frog Farm, where the early vintages were made. The winery was relocated in 1994 when John and his family moved Frog’s Leap to the historic Red Barn in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. This grand and welcoming building was built in 1884 as the Adamson Winery and sits amongst some of our 200 acres of estate grown vineyards. Over the past 30 years Frog’s Leap has earned an enviable reputation with our unique combination of a whimsical label, sincere dedication to sustainable principles and our small, handcrafted production of wines. Over the years to come we look forward growing and learning more about ourselves, our wines and how we can share it all with honesty and genuine hospitality.

Beautiful & tasty. Frog's Leap has always been my favorite. The tasting was informative. The staff was very friendly. Fall is a great time. You can smell the harvest in the air.

One of the most incredible experiences of my life. Incredibly knowledgeable tour guide, exceedingly friendly staff, beautiful premises and DELICIOUS wines. The property was beautiful and we learned a ton about organic wine making including their method of dry farming. We got to taste wines that were some of the best I've ever tasted and our entire group had a... More

We have always liked the wine even though it is difficult to find in the UK. So on a recent vacation we went to the winery! Brilliant experience and a tour party of only 10. The tour guide was knowledgable and very friendly! As for the wine ..... We brought some home. Highly recommend a visit - it's laid back... More

Loved our experience at Frog's Leap. Grounds are beautiful, staff very friendly and knowledgeable, a flight of 5 wines came with some nibbles to compliment the wines. Relaxed time in a very comfortable setting. $25 - wife and I shared (driving) and it was completely adequate. Bought wine and several jars of a spectacular plum jam made from vineyard grown... More

For our first winery visit, it was fantastic. The estate was beautiful and the staff super friendly and the wine was delicious. So relaxing sitting on the veranda and walking through the gardens.

We went here with two couples and got the star treatment. The tasting was supposed to be four samples but we ended up trying six wines and they were all fantastic. As Napa wines go they were relatively well priced given how delicious they were. I love the facilities too. We are decorating our home and I asked what the... More

The grounds here are beautiful, and we really enjoyed our visit here! They really do a great job with their tasting, where you have a table with snacks, and the attendants bring each tasting to the table. My friends and I loved sitting and relaxing while tasting wines, and the wines here was also really tasty! I would highly recommend... More

For USD 25 per person this winery offers a lovely wine tasting which can be thoroughly enjoyed sitting on their veranda. Make sure to make a reservation. The staff is extremely friendly and offer useful information about the organic farming practices of this vineyard without being overly present, thus allowing visitors to enjoy an intimate moment. The grounds are surrounded... More
