We first discovered Provenance wines on a wine dinner cruise on San Francisco Bay in 2007. Provenance wines have remained consistently good through the years.

We visit Provenance every time we come to Napa and always leave with a case or two. If you like your reds with “Rutherford Dust,” then this is the place for you.

Very good tasting room and lawn to sit on, but sold out of the Wine Spectator #4 wine of the year from the Hewitt vineyard. Plan to relax with wine and lunch if the timing is right, there is nice seating on the lawn.

We went to Provenance on a Sunday morning with a group of 6. Jessica greeted us and took us through a tasting focusing on cabs. Every one of them was very enjoyable and all in the group liked each wine that we sampled. The facility was fine and the wines really stood out. We visited several wineries but my friends... More

The tasting experience was too rushed and limited. And despite buying 3 bottles of wine they still didn't comp the single tasting - you have to spend $150 for that to happen.

There is nothing to tour here, no "grounds" to speak of, so the tasting room (which is nothing to look at) is pretty much it. The server was pleasant and offered to break up the tastings in a way so that both me & my friend could taste all the wines, which was a nice touch. The Hewitt wine (their... More

This is a winery that I want to say only positives about - a great location on Hwy 29 across from Alpha Omega, several fabulous cabs, a wonderful hostess named Natalie who took time to talk to us at length about the winery and the winemaker, a lovely facility with a huge lawn spotted with bright red Adirondack chairs, and... We used to love Provenance and we were club members, sending countless people to their tasting room over the years. Then the service became quite unpredictable - you never knew if you would get someone who even knew their wines at all. Once we had an annoying person who wanted us to guess what the wine was. Bottom line, we... More
