Description: HALL Rutherford offers guests a truly world-class winery experience to...
HALL Rutherford offers guests a truly world-class winery experience to include a tasting of HALL’s most regaled wines along with an intimate tour through the property and caves. The winery’s 14,000 square feet of caves were designed and built by hand by Friedrich Gruber of Gutenstein Austria. The caves are finished with handmade Austrian brick recovered from sites in and around Vienna and showcases select works from the Halls’ art collection. Deep inside the caves resides a dazzling reception area for private tastings and entertaining. The room’s spectacular chandelier, designed by Donald Lipski and Jonquil LeMaster, is dressed in hundreds of Swarovski crystals.

I spent a good amount of time researching the best winery in Napa and was careful to make sure that the one I chose was not a tourist destination. Napa wine tasting is expensive no matter where you go ranging from $25-70 per person. Hall Rutherford is $120 but it is an experience so unique that they could charge more... More

I have been to several wineries in Sonoma and Napa and have enjoyed all the different, fun and beautiful wineries. This winery is more modern and chic but I was blown away by the views, and the very knowledgeable staff but I most enjoyed the gorgeous cave tasting room (the tree chandelier is magnificent). You will not find another tasting... More

We have been to Napa a few times, and Kathryn Hall's Rutherford winery is the only winery we have stopped at each time we visit. Hall has two locations. Although they both have fantastic reds, their Rutherford location is simply breathtaking. The view is gorgeous and their cave tasting is simply a slice of heaven. You must make an appointment... The place is beautiful and quite different than what you are accustomed to seeing in the valley. The place is very modern and chic, bordering on industrial looking with a lot of glass and steel. Outside, they have chairs to sit and enjoy the view. The tasting room is floor to ceiling glass overlooking the vineyards. The wine was a... More

We've toured the Vintage 29 and Far Niente caves and they are wonderful, but Hall's Rutherford wine cave tops them all. Is it worth the premium charge? Well, we enjoyed a large variety and ample pours of 90+ point wines in a such a unique setting it's worth it...splurge. TIP: Get to the tour 15 minutes early to soak up... More

This was hands down the best tour and tasting we had in Napa. It was special and they really went all out for this tour/tasting. The wine is pricey, but the experience was worth the $125 per person.

I'm always afraid to write my review of Hall Rutherford because it is by far the most beautiful and the most special and the most perfect place of all in this entire region. Besides the fact that their Cabernets are the best in Napa, this facility is special. From all of the Austrian work with the Austrian Swarovski crystal chandelier... More

Hall Rutherford is up in the hills at a private residence compound with caves and unimpeded views as well. They have revamped their tour and tasting to limit visitors counts to no more than 14 on any given day. Excellent setting, fantastic wines, wonderful tour.

When we got to the gate we were buzzed in by a very pleasant young girl. We got there a little early because we came straight from the airport. When we walked in we were greeted by Rob.. He welcomed us as though we were honored guests in his own home. Being my daughter's birthday and we had just flown... More

The tour starts with a welcome glass of wine in the guest cottage beautifully situated above Napa Valley. It moves on to the wine cellar built with bricks from an Austrian castle. Kathryn Hall, one of the co-owners served as ambassador to Austria for several years. The tasting room is in a vaulted cellar with an incredible chandelier fashioned to... More
