I have reviewed Cakebread before, but it just keeps getting better and better. I have been a member of their wine club for years, and it is always a treat to pick up our "shipment" at the winery and taste the new vintages of their wines. The story of how the Cakebread family came to own the winery is charming,... More

We made reservations at Cakebread for their wine tasting. We were met at the door and handed a glass of their Sav. Blanc while checking in, a nice touch. The tasting took place on time and in their barrel warehouse. Although a little cool the setting was wonderful. Tasted 7-8 wines and all were very good.

Our tasting at Cakebread was a total disappointment. We were there on a hot Saturday afternoon and the tasting took place in the bright sun with little options for shade. Our guide was quite ridiculous, clearly tired and just going through the motions with no real enthusiasm. I highly suggest that you skip this place! There's too many other good... More

This is likely the most recommended place that we visited. The group that I went with was largely underwhelmed. The employee that gave us our tour was lovely, though chatted at length about things that had no relevance to the tour or the wine. The wine was good, but not our favorite. Based on all of the recommendations it was... More

We went to many wineries but have to say this was the best. We got reservations for the food pairing. The chef has developed wonderful selections to match up with wine. And for sure you can not beat the wine from Cakebread.

A great wine-tasting experience. You need to make a reservation for this winery as the tasting slots were all full the day we went, luckily I had pre-booked the 2pm slot. It is very slick and once you have checked in you try your first vintage in the waiting area before your "wine guide" comes to find you, introduces himself... More

My husband and I recently attended a food and wine pairing at Cakebread. Nancy was our host and she was delightful!! We had a nice tour of the property, enjoyed the pairing and before you knew it, it was over! We highly recommend making reservations and we promise you that you won't be disappointed. We left with a few bottles... More

We very much enjoyed our tasting and tour at this winery. Guide took us into the barrel room and we tasted right there which was unique. Wines were awesome - especially the Chardonnay and Cab Reserve. Thx to our winery finder app, we also enjoyed a 2 for 1 discount.

The estate might not be as good to look at as others - and there are a lot of those one could name! - but our guide Christian knew his stuff and the six pour offering was good value (even more so if you stay at the Hotel Yountville as your tasting for two is comped!). The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon... More

I scheduled the in-depth tour and seating tasting and it was a really fun experience. Our guide Greg was very helpful and nice. The grounds are very nice and we got to learn some great history on Cakebread. The wine obviously is incredible. Don't miss Cakebread - really fun visit
