The acting was great. The story line was interesting and there was no way to easily figure out "who done it". These are the pluses that would warrant a ticket price of maybe $25 for the theatre experience. The food was dried chicken or tasteless pot roast. A glass of bad wine was $9.50. The venue is a conference room... More

I had always wanted to go to a murder mystery dinner so my boyfriend took me there for my birthday. The show is no longer near the Mission Inn. It is at a little Italian restaurant next door to Goodwill. That should have been my first red flag. After being seated, a really sweet girl that couldn't stop smiling came... More

Dear Janette, I am so sorry to hear of your disappointing experience at our dinner and show on Saturday, 12/5. We strive to meet our customers' needs at every event, and are so disappointed we failed to meet your expectations. It seems that catering at our new location in Riverside has been wobbly. We have new caterers this week (a... More

We had a blast. I'd never done one of these murder mystery dinner shows before. I was anticipating more audience interaction. There wasn't much. We still had fun though. The drinks were strong ;-) The food was ok. Not the best meal I've had but far from the worst. The cast was great, totally in character and funny. I don't... More

We thought the acting was wonderful. The food was better than we had expected so that was an added plus. We were mainly there for their dinner show. I would definitely do it again. I wish that the room were a little bit bigger but I do like the outside balcony that looks over the Mission Inn! I'm glad there... More

Food was just okay, but the performance was excellent. I was really in shock with how good all of the actors were. All were a perfect fit for the roles...I was really surprised with how good this show was. Thanks for a nice evening.

Texas family visiting CA wanted something different for evening entertainment and chose Gourmet Detective. We enjoyed the actors mingling with the audience and involved us in the "who dun it" Food was served in increments and in a timely manner...but the taste was nothing to write home about. The play was zany with laughs. Value of the evening was a... More

The Gourmet Detective is the place to go for an entertaining evening when you are in Riverside. The whole evening is based on audience participation, so you have to be willing to join the party that the staff is throwing especially for you. The show is funny, corny, and cheesy, but you'll love it. Expect a raucous good time. Don't... More
