This is a great place to walk, run or take your bike. You will see all ages walking here. The terrain is flat and marked so you can see how far you walk. They do allow dogs and you will see a lot of them. We have been walking there for a number of years with our Lab and have... More

Went there to do some gold panning, found lots of fools gold but no gold. but loved the hike in and the rock climbing and caves were amazing too. We also saw a beaver hunting for fish. The only thing was disheartening was there were lots of broken glass from beer bottles, and some trash.

Rustling Raging water yet not like before they took down the dam. Singing Birds, Flying bugs, & Serenity. Rustling of the BRIGHT green trees and the Smell of Fresh mountain air yet just minutes (literally minutes) from Downtown Redding. (Be on the L@@K Out- There is a Nude beach somewhere along the creekside but I think it's in a secluded... More

Clear Creek is a series of trails along the creek and the land is public and administered by the BLM. It shows some of the local prospecting locations where they aggressively gathered gold from the creek bottom. There is still gold left! As one BLM worker told me they (the 49ers) were looking for $100 dollar bills in the creek... More

This is an active night time illegal drag strip. Used to have a lot of fun out there in my younger days.

We used to go to French Gulch/Clear Lake when I was a kid growing up in Redding. I brought by boys to explore and they had a great time!

The BLM put plenty of time and effort into restoring this watershed after the damage done from mining and years of dumping. It is now a great get away for day recreation.

This trail still being fairly new is a great way to see of the nature at its best. Great view point with parking lot, restroom, wheel chair, strollers easy to use in this area. Over look into the creek and see the fish.

This would be a nice recreational area but we found no place that we could walk as there were so many broken bottles and trash. My friend nearly cut his heel off when he was wading and stepped on the bottom of a broken beer bottle. Had to have 22 stitches.

This is a great spot for just walking around at or taking pictures. If you only stay on the trail though, it's not as exciting. Venture out a little but be safe. There are lots of little waterfalls you can't see from the parking area.
