Sacramento Children's Museum's opened our doors in 2011 with a mission is to spark a passion for life-long learning. We are accomplishing our mission by providing a place where children are encouraged to think for themselves, expand their problem-solving abilities through creative exploration, and exercise both their bodies and their minds. The Museum's hands-on environments provide children with a gateway for opening up their minds to developing new abilities, building confidence, and making connections between their dreams and real world experiences.

A very packed entertainment center for children. Amazingly surprise in the size of the museum and the offerings they had for different ages. The children could certainly be kept occupied and busy for an hour. I certainly recommend going there during the weekend. During the week bus loads of children from different schools converge in the museum. Adequate sittings for... More

We took our 4-year-old grandson to visit. He had a blast. Lots of interactive things to explore. He especially like the wall with clear pneumatic tubes where you can place a ball or scarf in the tube and watch it fly around the tubes before shooting out. He also liked the water tables which let you use different toys or... More

It was interesting, I thought there would be more things to see. wee are in the State Capitol. My seven year old is pretty smart for his age. He was a little bored. My son enjoyed it for the most part.

My son's daughter (13 months old) and my daughter's son (two and a half years old) can play for hours at the Sacramento Children's Museum in Rancho Cordova without getting bored. On our last visit, one of our grandson's friends visited the museum for the first time and he loved it as well. In fact, his mother decided to purchase... More

We took our 3yo grandson today. He surprised us with what he was drawn to. We thought he would go for the water play or the trains and blocks. Instead he went to the "store", latched onto a shopping cart, filled it up with "groceries" and walked all over the place with it. He did enjoy weighing things on the... More

We celebrated a birthday party here. They provide a room for an hour or so, allowing you to have some privacy to sing a Happy Birthday song, and afterwards the kids enjoyed the 'museum'. This is more a playground, with lots of educational toys. A great choice, not only for a birthday party but also to take your kids. Ages... More

I took my 2 year-old and infant to this place while visiting family in Sacramento. I would think for a city that size, their children's museum would be awesome. The "museum" is a shop in a business strip, not a stand-alone museum for kids. Tiny and expensive ... we had to pay admission for myself, my husband and my in-laws... More

I've taken my 5-year-old to a few children's museums and was interested in this one because there was a lot of hype. It was a real disappointment from a children's museum perspective. The exhibits make very little attempt to be educational. However, if you are just looking to keep your young child (5 and under) busy for an hour or... More

I got a deal for this place on Groupon so we took our two kids ages 4 and 6. It's a small place but it kept my kids busy for 3 hours. The water play area was my sons favorite while my daughter prefered the plexiglass wall painting area. Not sure what their regular price is but for $16 for... More
