This is a sleeper. In one place, all within short walking distances, where else can you find: 1. A rustic restaurant 2. A local history museum 3. A classic small park with a band stand; folks get married there 4. A stream 5. A running steam engine 6. An historic home with tours of last-century life 7. A meeting hall... More

This park is awesome. They have different engines that run on different weekend days for the trail. The steamer is my favorite and my kids.

Great park to have a picnic in or just walk around. It has a creek that runs through it. A very peaceful park setting. People use it to take pictures in, have a picnic, walk their dog, bring their kids or just sit and enjoy it. It also has a train that is popular during the holidays and weekends and... More

The Old Poway Park has many family events during the year. I enjoy going to the music concerts held in the gazebo during the Summer. The concerts are on Sundays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the schedule appears in the Poway Today publication, which comes out quarterly. We enjoy packing a picnic dinner and sitting with friends while... More

This has a great place for breakfast or lunch... burgers are good. Then stroll around the park, peek in the stores which carry knicknacks and homemade treasures. The working steam locomotive is also great to ride. On the week-ends is the Farmer's market when the street is closed off and several booths with local produce and other fare is available

It's really a great place for family fun. Feel like bringing you back to your childhood again. Family with small children, ride the train. Experience they'll cherish. Several restaurants are around, big park for walking or just relaxing at the gazebo in the park. There's old style blacksmith there also for some folks who are interested. At least come once... The other reviews have said most of the highlights, but it's even better now. Poway has closed two blocks of the street (Midland Road) east of the park and expanded the farmers market, so definitely go on Saturday. The train (rides for a small fee) is usually also running on Saturdays.

I walk through this park often. There are always photographers here, so I must not be the only one who thinks it is a nice setting. The railroad runs on the weekend. There are 2 museums here which are open on busy weekends. One of the best Farmer's Markets in the county is here on Saturday mornings. The Hamburger Factory... More

Most people who visit Southern California from the Midwest or East often comment that the towns here don't feel like towns - no city center or community parks. True, Poway does not have a city center - it is really a suburb incorporated into a city in 1980. But, the Old Poway Park, does have a community feel. No, it... More
