Old Poway Park provides an invaluable asset to families in Poway and beyond. The scenic setting is used by many for family photos while offering visitors grass areas for picnics, the Poway-Midland Railroad with a live steam engine, holiday events, concerts in the Park during summer, the Hamburger Factory for a quick bite, and a Farmer’s market on Saturday’s. You... More

Your family will love a picnic or stroll in Old Poway Park. There are giant, old oak trees giving a lovely shaded sanctuary feel. There's a shallow creek that meanders around for the kids to watch for tadpoles. Small, level, quiet and easy to walk around. Don't want to bring a picnic? The Hamburger Factory is right there serving great... More

Great place for family picnics and group photos. During summer concerts are held outside too. Great restaraunt (The Hamburger Factory) with best burgers and the only place I ever order baby back ribs!!! They fall off the bone! Park had train run by volunteers on weekend for the little ones. It is a great center for Poway. Running creek bridges,... More

Beautiful park in center of Poway. Saturday morning Farmer's Market, the railroad, a picnic, a bit of shopping in the cute boutiques ... Makes for a fun couples or family outing. The Hamburger Factory offers reasonably priced burgers, breakfast and dinner for all ages.

this is a great park. It has a working train that gives train rides on saturdays and a farmers market on saturdays. We love to ride our bikes to the park and eat at the hamberger factory!

Last summer I attended a country-themed wedding held at Old Poway Park. The grounds were beautifully kept and the staff of the Park was extremely helpful. The trains with the small depot added the old time feel and the big oaks and creek added the country element.

What a beautiful park! This is a great place for picnics and birthday parties. What is lost by the lack of playground is made up by the railroad that operates on the weekends (see separate review). I live around the corner, and everytime I walk through the park I see families and high school seniors taking photographs. In the fall,... More

What a charming park. There is a small open air train ride that the kids (and we) were excited about riding. There was a small fee, the conductor was very nice and we stopped to chat with workers inside the station where the large locomotive was. The day was beautiful. Highly recommend this very low key attraction.

Reenactments of the Gettysburg address, cannon firing, flags everywhere, music in the Gazebo. Railroad a big hit with the kids of all ages. Truly a great day. Even on "regular weekends" the train is a big hit. Just a great park and area with interesting shops across the street.
