We are staying on base in the RV park for the 4th of July & decided to walk over to the museum after many stays on this facility. The new museum building is fairly new and it provides a comprehensive and interesting education on the history of the Navy Seabees. The volunteers are all extremely helpful and well informed. We... This is a tiny museum in Port Hueneme featuring the history and accomplishments of the Naval Construction Co known as the Seabees and the Civil Engineer Corps of the US Navy. There are a lot of artifacts on display including the Humvee and artillery that were used during that time. Don't forget to grab some souvenirs in the gift shop... More

I enjoyed my visit. The museum featured historical displays, artifacts, and arts and crafts made by servicemen. There are also exhibits pertaining to what is happening right now in different places around the world. Although some people have less interest in military history, the museum captures American history and is a good place to visit.

This is a very nice and newer museum of Seabee history. It seems that a portion of it is under development but overall we enjoyed the tour after our Son graduated as a new Seabee! Don't miss the gift shop.

Family history prompted me to visit this museum and I wasn't disappointed. It is located outside the base so there is no need for a pass or sponsor and it is free. The museum is nicely done with educational films, displays, pictures of the Seabee life and contributions to our country. It looks as if they are in the process... More

With a fabulous beach and hotels nearby, the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum is a can't miss attraction. Learn about a courageous and under-sung branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and see some terrific displays. Then continue down Ventura Rd, where it terminates at expansive Hueneme Beach and Pier. This is also host site for the Alaska Airline Flight 261 Memorial.... More

The Seabee have a proud history and this new museum shows the pride. Still a work in process they moved into this space in the last year or two. But progress is being made. Ask the active duty who man the info desk on thier spare time and you will learn about the hardest working men and women in the... More

We loved the displays--many of which are interactive. They also have many first hand recordings and videos of retired Seabee Vets retelling their experiences and some of the important work done by the Seabees. There is a friendly and dedicated staff on hand to answer questions and offer interesting historical and factual tidbits to enhance your visit. Not real big... More
