The walk from the carpark to the point itself is easy, not very intense. However, the stairs from the point to the lighthouse itself are a bit of a hike. The stairs have resting points on multiple levels, but still. The lighthouse does provide a stunning view, so it's worth the exercise!

As we drove in, I thought we'd never get there but the drive was worth it. The views of the beach and cliffs are simply breathtaking and the lighthouse is a very cool piece of history. The stairway was closed when I was there but I would have loved to walk all the way down (300 steps). Closes at 4:30... More

It was sunny when we went up to Point Reyes Station & lighthouse. A little less than 2hrs drive from San Jose(CA). Quaint lil town, nice cafes & saturday farmers market. I climb down&up the 300+steps.(Lighthouse) Amazing view of the ocean!

The light house is amazing. It was great to see waves crashing from all different directions. The fog only made the light house look more historic if that is possible. Ranger s are great. Don't forget to get your national parks passport stamped. Loved the lighthouse

After visiting Stinson Beach, we made the trek to visit the light house at Point Reyes. Although worth the trip, it was quite a long drive through windy roads – take Dramamine is you have people that get car sick. It is a long drive through several of the old cattle farms to get there. The sights along the drive... More

The area by the Lighthouse was very beautiful but when we were there, the tiny parking lot was full and cars were lined along the street for about a half mile or more from the entrance so we had to hunt for a space and then walk the extra distance to the lighthouse area. There is one very narrow stairway... More

It's a drive to get there, but you'll be pleased you drove all the way to see this wonder. After the 20 mile drive from Inverness, most of it uphill, you will be rewarded with a strenuous hike up and then down, down many stairs to access this lighthouse. It was built way out on the downward edge of the... More

A great place by the sea with the history of the bay area with the lighthouse. Beautiful walks and vistas. Take a jacket/sweater as it is always cold. If you see the sun you will be fortunate at the lighthouse. Over 400 steps to the lighthouse so be in good shape for this one.

Loved the lighthouse (although it was closed when we went). Amazing to see it in the fog with the crashing waves all around. A must if you come up to Point Reyes.

We combined the lighthouse with a 2 hour stop at Stinson beach for our worldwind trip of this part of Northern CA. with a return route via the Sir Francis Drake Bvld back to Rt.101, you can also pull over and see redwood trees close up. It was a weekday so not much traffic. The lighthouse: quite a drive in... More
