Once you turn off Highway 1 the road to Point Reyes is long but worth the trip. Make sure to check out all of the historic cattle farms along the way. Once you arrive the views are amazing. The surf is ruff & there are lots of birds. There is a bit of a walk to get to the lighthouse... More

An excellent destination in the Point Reyes National Seashore park - the lighthouse is at the base of a long staircase that has phenomenal views all the way down and back up again. The weather was fantastic the day we visited - sunny and bright and the view of the shore as well as the open sea was amazing. There... More

Our American friends drove us here for the day and it is just incredible. The views are amazing and we saw a whale blow in the distance. Worth the drive

Unfortunately it was really foggy when we were there, but we enjoyed the hike down and back up, the lighthouse itself, and loved what we could see of the waves crashing into the shore, etc. really cool.

We were there on a cold and blustery day and still all of us (7, 10, 40 and 60+ ages) enjoyed the climb and exploring the light house. Its good way to the light house and a bunch of steps; you should be in reasonable physical condition to go from the parking area down to the light house but none... More

I have been here countless times. It's a truly beautiful place, and visiting it is free. It is quite a hike to get to the lighthouse, and there are a lot of stairs climbing as well, but if you can muster up the energy it is quite worth it.

Spectacular View of Pacific Ocean. There is descend 300 steps to the light House. Light House is not open every day and do not forget to check before planning. Descend is though open all days. Weather conditions can be checked from Bear Valley Visitor centre but it may worth taking a chance even if the forecast of weather is not... More

What a beautiful little lighthouse. But I gotta tell you, I was dying on the hike back up the hill. I've got to get in shape.

The lighthouse is located on the western-most point of the Point Reyes Headlands. Check the visiting hours before you come. I don't think it's open mid-week. And during whale watching season you'll have to leave your car behind and ride a shuttle bus. To get to the lighthouse itself, you must walk a half-mile from the parking lot to the... More
