Visited yesterday with my 13 year old and friend and her 2 daughters (11 and 9)...There is a $7.50/ per adults and kids up to 3 years old are free and 3-12 years old are $1.00 ...There is also a $25.00 per carload if that works out less expensive than the individual rate. Nice to know. . There is a... More

Informative displays and guided tour of the museum and lighthouse - fantastic views from the top when it is not foggy.

Don't just drive to the lighthouse - hike there from the Point Arena Wharf. Beautiful 5-6mi coastal hike - unspoiled, undeveloped - spectacular landscape.

The Pt Arena lighthouse is now in the center of the new national monument of the Stornetta Lands. Beautiful views; whales passing by. Monthly full moon tours

Great views of the ocean, lots of places to hike. Museum was nice too. Easy climb to the top, well worth it. Go on a weekday and avoid the crowds.

Two thirds down the 2 mile long road to the lighthouse, you'll see some cars stopped on the side of the road. Park and walk along the cliffs and enjoy some of the most awesome views of rock cropings, blue waters and waves - you'll think you're on another planet. This area is owned by the Storenetta Diary and recently... More

I love to visit lighthouses, ever since living near the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, and Point Arena was a special one to add to the list! This lighthouse sits on a narrow, rugged point of land on the Pacific coast south of Mendocino, and is still operating and open to the public. We lucked out with a sunny day in the... More

This was very interesting and educational. Worth it to see this place and the coastline. The geology in this area is fascinating and I learned that Point Arena is the closest point on the mainland to Hawaii!

We take friends here when we do the "tourist thing". They charge to climb the lighthouse stairs and everyone should do this at least once if they are able. The climb requires a bit of effort but the view is well worth it. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they feature a lot of history of the area and... More
