My husband and I recently visited Cooper Vineyards for the second time. During both of these visits, we had such an enjoyable experience. This particular time, we were greeted by Rose, the granddaughter of the owner of the Winery. She was so much fun and bursting with personality. She has a great sense of humor and just a delight to... Wow, they make some great wines here; Nicely balanced, not over extracted, and great value. Little nibbles inside, such as cheese and pretzels, is a nice touch. The grounds are beautiful too. Friendly wine staff. We were so impressed, we joined the CinCin wine club. The Roussanne, Carignane, and Grenache are all worth trying. A must try in the area.

If you love barbera, this is one place not to miss. Cooper was one of the pioneers to bring barbera to light. The tasting room is very nice, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Worth a visit even if it is tad off the beatten path.

The tasting room at Cooper Vineyards is huge so there is plenty of room, even when the place gets crowded. The wine is impressive and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They have cheese, pretzels and chocolate to pair and/or cleanse your palate while tasting. I really enjoyed their reds (my personal preference), they were bold, yet smooth. The grounds... More

I have been coming to this winery for several years. By far the best wines. It has gotten so crowded there on the weekends that we rarely go unless we have a weekday off. The staff knows their stuff. The Primitivo and Zinfandel are their most superb wines but all of them are above average.

Cooper Vineyards was our fourth stop on our second day of wine tasting in Amador County. Based on our positive experience, we will move it up and visit it again with a somewhat fresher palate the next time we go. Even when you space out several tastings in a given day, and limit the number of wines you sample at... More

Staff is well versed and knowledgeable about wines. If they're not sure about a certain, they refer to their tasting notes. Today was quite visual with club pick ups, however staff was able to handle the number of people quite easily. Light snacks are provided ( carrots, cheese, pretzels today). Easy parking and accessibility for handicapped. Chair is readily available.... More

We were referred to this winery by Erin at Renwood. The lady was very helpful and informative. We enjoyed talking with her. We bought some Barbara and Primitivo. She also gave us ideas for making thanksgiving gravy with wine.

Although Amador County is known for its zinfandel, Cooper first brought Barbera to the county. And his Barbera deserves its many awards. Cooper is a lovely winery in the foothills in a beautiful setting, with helpful, friendly and knowledgable pourers. And it has an extensive wine list--all excellent. Another must-stop on your visit to the Shenandoah Valley.

We first encountered Cooper wines at a hosted barbeque. One of the Cooper representatives was pouring there. She had one bottle of wine left when we were all asked to be seated. I rushed over to ask if I could buy this amazing Alacante Bouschet she had left. She said she could not sell it to me, but would give... More
