This may not be everyone's cup of tea - but the mix of locals, tourists, young and old is rare. Its full of character, soul and a memorable night out. People dancing to the band (very good) like in the 70's. There's a novel here - noisy, sleazy, friendly, grungey, full of life - an authentic dose of rock n... More

We had already eaten and were walking back to the hotel...Harry's was just a plain fun find for us! The waitress was sweet, the band was good, the (small) crowd was friendly and happy to dance and have a good time. It was a perfect end to our evening and we burned off some of that fabulous local clam chowder.

Been going to Harry's since the early 1980s and have never been endeared to it. If I had to build a dive bar at the beach this is the model for it. Paul the owner tried to make this a surviving money maker and he did. Kudos to Paul ! He and the place are survivors and Harry's is a... More

Pismo is a classic California sleepy beach town. And what classic beach town doesn't have a dive bar that attracts both locals and tourists. Harry's is a quintessential dive bar in the best sense of the word. It offers cheap drinks, lots of seating, people watching extraordinaire, and, on the night we were there, a really excellent 80's funk/soul cover... More

Average dive bar with a varied crowd on a Thursday night. Cash only! Drinks were a little bit pricey, but were super strong. Two points off for the horrible, open sewer type smell that hits you when you walk in and the absolutely awful, nails on the chalkboard type karaoke that was blaring at about 10,000 decibels. Apparently this is... More

This bar draws and older crowd but it is definitely a lot of fun. The cover band was horrible. I actually thought it was karaoke night but nope it was a cover band and they were just that bad. I think it made the night funner though. We laughed danced and had a drinks.

If you are in the area, stop in EARLY - after a certain time they charge a cover due to the bands they have nightly. They are one of the few bars that have a dance floor so they get kudos for that. Later in the night it can get a little rowdy. The prices are average and the servers... More

We spent two afternoons here enjoying cold beer and live music. the bands were simply awful but watching the people was totally worth sitting in the cheesy, uncomfortable seats with sticky tables and stale beer smell.

Stopped by mid afternoon on our way up to Santa Cruz last Tuesday, and had a couple of beers. Our server was a lovely, nice girl - friendly and welcoming. There were just a few other people in the bar - all of us had come in on motorcycles. It seemed like the place I'd love to come to more... More
