located in the upper part of the anderson valley in california, they make fantastic sparkling wine. i highly recommend a visit.
Highway 128 in Anderson Valley is certainly a competition to Napa or Sonoma Valleys. And if you like champagne, then Roederer is the place to stop. We were not disappointed by the champagne and the wine, but the service could have been better. Two ladies took care of our tasting, one was young, gave a lot of information about the... More
Lovely tasting facility in the heart of the Anderson Valley. There is a nice view across the valley, and the grounds are immaculate. The tasting room is spacious and comfortable, and the decor includes great collection of French wine making prints. And the sparkling wines are first class. A must visit if you're in the Mendocino area.
Wonderfull setting. Anderson Valley is a hidden gem and Roderer Estate is one of the finest of the gems. Be sure to sample the difference between a normal bottle and a magnum.
Friendly service, very good vine, pleasant, and reasonable prices. It is a nice place to stop going to or from the Mendocino coastal area.
This was our last place of the day. The gal who did our tasting seemed tired , didnt talk to us at all or make eye contact. The other employee seemed lovely and what I would have wanted to experience during out first visit. She felt bad for us and came over twice to see where we were on the... More
The Roederer Estate was the first of four wineries we visited on a recent Wednesday afternoon in the Anderson Valley. We began the $6 tasting with two of Roederer's sparkling wines that are readily available around the country, the Brut and Brut Rose. Then, we moved onto their sparkling wines that are harder to find, or only available at the... More
Wife and I went out of our way for their tasting, not for their incredible wines but for the overall ambience of the experience--and we were not at all disappointed! The grounds are beautiful and perfect for a delightful picnic lunch accompanied by one of their very good bubblys. And the drive there from the coast was spectacular!
My significant other loves sparkling, so we did the 2 hour drive north to Roederer. We had high expectations which were not met. The tour was given by a very young, inexperienced guide who was reading off a sheet. Did not have the feel of the other sparkling vineyards in Napa & Sonoma. Tasting room and patio were nice, but... What is a celebration without champagne? The only French winery up here, you can go posh and get Crystal (though make sure to hold it so it can taste the way it should) or enjoy one of the regular vintages now. The basic brut is excellent and a good value. There is a tasting fee, but it includes their still... More
