Anderson Valley was for us a discovery! We were a little fed up with the masses of tourists in Napa Valley. A good friend of ours took us to an orgiastic wine tasting at the Handley Cellars. It was fantastic and free!! We had reservation for a big group and Chris Richard, the Lead Host organized for us a variegated... More

First, if you haven't been to the Mendocino wine growing region of CA, you need to check this place out! Quaint, friendly, non-pretentious wine owners focused on just making the best wines they can and then sharing them with those who will appreciate them. Tasting fees are loosely enforced and wine prices are 30-50% less than Napa/Sonoma. I LOVE Handley... More

Handley Cellars has always had good wines, the best being their Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir (especially the RSM) and Pinot Blanc. They also have a wonderful tasting room, replete with exotic art collected by owner/winemaker Milla Handley and her father, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Nice selection of whites and reds, dry to sweet. Very tasty wines. Outdoor picnic tables on a covered deck. Small shop inside the relatively small tasting room.

So, we were there on SuperBowl Sunday and normally the weather would be bad. It was awesome. No crowds. And our tasting expert Allie is our new best friend. The setting is gorgeous. The wine was wonderful. If you are in the Anderson Valley start your tour at Handley. This was the highlight of our trip.

We chose this winery randomly and were delighted. Tasted several eines, and we were even offered chocolate. Bought several bottles and had them shipped home. Cozy place with very friendly staff. Wonderful visit. We Will Be Back.

We stopped in on a recommendation from our B&B, and were really impressed at the quality of the wines were able to sample. Our server was personable and knowledgeable about all their products and gave us just enough info for each wine we tasted. And each one was at least very good ( even the varietals I am not a... Our tasting room steward mentioned that they lost out because of being near the end of the wine trail. So now, you can know to save one stop for them. They have some excellent wines in a lovely tasting room, filled with a collection of beautiful art items for sale and just for the room. We were very attracted to... More

At last, a winery with a tasting room which is just that!!! Forget Napa, head for Mendocino County. Unpretentious, quality wines with good old fashioned hospitality. After being robbed for tasting in Napa the offer of free tasting was welcome. Chris was personable, knowledgeable and accommodating...not to mention has great taste in cars. Their wines were among the best we... More

We stopped in Handley for wine tasting and again had a great time. This is our second visit and we enjoyed it once again. The staff is excellent! We tasted all the wines and of course we found several that we really liked. We bought a couple of bottles to enjoy at our hotel! They actually gave us a small... More
