Whether you are a visitor from out of town or a local resident you will find this to be a wonderful place to take a walk. The flat path allows you to choose between a leisurely stroll to a speed walk or anything in between while enjoying the views along the Petaluma River. The only downside is that parking can... More

We have been to this park many times in the past. We love it because the birds are usually pretty close and this is great for photographers. But the last time we went the place was almost completely dry. Go when it's flooded and you'll be pleasantly surprised with all the birds.

This is a great place to walk around and see the migrating birds through out the seasons. It is also a very nice place to get some exercise by walking around the whole loop.

I like walking around this bird estuary. It's basically one big round loop with water outside and drying up on the inside. It's flat and safe and you may bring your dog as long as its on a leash and you clean up after him. Because of the drought it has some smelly issues in one part but it passes... More

Shollenberger Park is a little treasure along the Petaluma River. Because of the current lack of water, there is currently not as much water in the wetlands as in a normal year. But usually the wetlands are home to a large variety of ducks and birds. There is a contained circular trail in addition to longer off shoot trails. The... More

For me personally, I use this park to take walks and relax from everyday stress. I find it very relaxing walking its main 2 mile, dirt path. I like walking on dirt to save myself from getting shin splints, so this is a perk for me. There is a paved path as well. This park can be enjoyed by many... More

If there isn't a drought, and water is present, the 3 mile loop walk around Shollenberger Park is a bird watchers paradise. Many duck species. Black necked stilts abound. Easy parking. Great spot for bird photography. The place to take a long walk.

I know, it is a park and what do you expect from a park? Well there are numerous people out there for the same reasons you are, to take a stroll or a bike ride in the fresh air along the river. You get to see some wildlife and fowl along the way as well as river kayakers. Always something... More

Easy 2 mile walk primarily dirt with some paved areas. Borders on the Petaluma river and a wetlands area so there's usually plenty of waterfowl present. Very nice for walking the dog
