This state operated light house operates by donation only and has a friendly staff eager to share the history for FREE! There are a few trails and you can see sea lions bathing on the rocks, there is a little gift store, a hostel (very reasonably priced) and free restrooms that could be improved upon. But all in all a... More

Hadn't planned on seeing this attraction but it caught my eye as I was driving up Hwy 1 and decided to make a quick stop. Quite glad that I did because the lighthouse is a beautiful historical gem perched right on the beach and the cool foggy day make it picture perfect. There's a small gift shop and information center... More

Pigeon Point Light House is a beautiful lighthouse. We were there on a glorious sunny day and the views were breathtaking. There is also a hostel here. We have been to this area several times. Some of the beaches nearby the lighthouse are "hidden" from the road. On one of our trips we saw a boat shipwrecked along the coast... More

Stopped on our way up the California coast to view this old lighthouse. No tours were allowed, as the lighthouse is in need of repair. After reading about its history, we made a generous donation and hope to see it preserved soon.

This is a gem! The place has great overlooks onto a cove and the surrounding seas. Spotted what we figured was a whale in the cove, blow hole and all! Visited the exhibits which were very interesting and moreover, spoke with the guides who were friendly and engaged us with stories from recent experiences and long ago!

High Again All. The whole thing is very picturesque with the lighthouse on the sea cliff. It is worth the stop if only to take a few pictures. Regards, OldeBear

The lighthouse is being restored and currently shows its age, but the docents working there certainly love it. The large glass lens has been brought down for a close up view. There is also a hostel on the site. From the boardwalk you can see a variety of birds along with seals and sea lions. On other visits, during migration,... More

This was OK. The trees were as interesting as the light house. We passed it by chance and stopped off. The toilet were absolutely disgusting.

This lighthouse just south of Pescadero is visible from Hwy. 1, and it is so worth a stop to visit. It is a state park, with a visitor center staffed by friendly and knowledgeable folks. The visitor center houses the giant old lighthouse lens, with umpteen prisms of glass to reflect and project the light. It also houses many other... More

We were 1st here in 2009. So glad we came back. They have completed some of the restoration on the lighthouse. The massive 8000 lbs lens is now on display in the small, but informative "museum". The view and surrounding area is so beautiful. You might even be lucky enough to spot a couple of migrating whales. Please take the... More
