We were treated to the rudest service i ever experienced. The hostel was clean when we arrived and clean when we left it. one employee stated that we would have to mop the floors and vacuum floors because of our group size which was 7. the other employee told the first employee that was not true and only for large... i can't say enough about the light station. i've been going here for 14 years to tour and photograph the light house, watch for whales, stay in the hostel with friends and see the annual lighting. sadly you can no longer climb the tower and the lens has been removed in preparation for repairs. i just hope they can raise... I actually enjoyed this little stop on our trip. The lighthouse is well a light house lol but the grounds are beautiful there’s a hostel here and I’m sure it must be fun to stay somewhere where the ocean is crashing mere feet away. There’s not much to do and the public restroom is more of an outhouse so that... More

I always stop at Pigeon Point lighthouse when I'm driving down Highway 1. It only takes a short while to walk around the park and see the lighthouse, but it is time well spent. The views of the Pacific Ocean are spectacular. There is a hostel associated with the park, but I haven't stayed there, so I can't comment on... More

The lighthouse tour is educational and is centrally located to fun experiences. On a moonlit night, either beach camping (free) or staying at the youth hostel (with hot tub) provide a memorable experience. The rythym of the the rotaing light adds to the darkened backdrop. More

Although the lighthouse is closed due to structural instability, it's worth stopping by and having a walk around the grounds and out to the balcony overlooking the rocks where ships wrecked in days gone by. Talk to the docents to get a feel for the history. They are friendly and helpful. There's even a hostel here if you want a... More

My sister, neice and I set off on a Highway 1 adventure to explore the CA coast. We found the lighthouse charming, with a picuresque exterior. We got several good shots. More

We're so glad we pulled over and got out for a walk. Amazing views of the Pacific and the crashing waves. 4 or more seals sunning themselves on a rock below. The youth hostel seemed busy and there was restoration work being done on those buildings. The tower itself is in need of reinforcement/restoration. It would be a shame to... More
