this place is rich in very cool, knowledgable docents. whales almost year round. bring a lunch, binoculars and ask docents all the quests you want. this history is amazing. and while you're at it, find the big money corporations to cough up some money to fix this famous lighthouse. it's the tallest one on the coast and it's in major... This Light Station is a true highlight of any trip along the Pacific Coast Highway. The lighthouse stands tall and proud among beautiful scenery. And one can stay the night in one of the cabins at the base of the lighthouse.

It was a beautiful weekend day when we went. There were many people coming and going but not so many that the place was congested. Some were staying at the hostel there. The weather was just right, and the walk around the lighthouse was breezy and cool. The view from the front of the lighthouse is magnificent - you can... More

The lighthouse is fenced off, but still lights up at night. The tidepools here are amazing!! We saw lots of crabs and seals too. The beach is like pebble beach, but further down is lots of sand at Bean Hollow State Beach.

Enjoyed our trip to the light house. It's very easy to get to, just a short road off Highway 1 near Pescadero. There was a display about the history, along with a light house lens in one building, historic photos of the area in the old oil storage building, a couple of viewing platforms to enjoy the scenic pacific as... Lease drop by and drop a few bucks to help raise $12 million for a full restoration. It's nice to a break for a few pics and bathroom break.

Went to see this Lighthouse and you cannot enter into the lighthouse. Disappointed about that. However, the prism, inside the guest area was really nice to see and educational. The staff were nice and out on the deck allowed you to view the Harbor seals from their telescope and binoculars. Even saw a whale spouting and it's tail. I bought... More

Thankfully people told us of this place, otherwise we would have never knew it existed. The Pigeon Point Light House is one of the tallest lighthouses in America, and was operational from 1872. Around the light house station are coastal areas, beautiful scenery and a whale-spotting deck. The Lighthouse is closed for repairs since 2001 and may only be viewed... More

Great place to stop for a break on hwy. 1. Learned a lot about whales and sea lions from the wonderful staff. The day we stopped a whale had made an appearance shortly before we arrived. But, even though we e missed the whale, the education, beauty, and peacefulness was worth the stop. My ten year old daughter liked it... More

Decided to do a spontaneous day trip to Pescadero with 2 kids (12 and 15) to hike the Ano Nuevo Coastal Hike. Traffic delayed us a bit so we decided to have lunch first. Drove to Pigeon Point Lighthouse and sat in our of their picnic tables to have lunch with a beautiful view. Walked over to the lighthouse to... More
