I've lived in the Bay Area for 10 years and I cannot believe I had never been here. Absolutely a must for anyone traveling up or down the coast or those of us lucky enough to live nearby. Beautiful sunny 73 degree day which is a treat but I was fortunate enough to then get to see California Sea Lions... More

Driving Highway One is a fabulous experience that is made that bit more special by having places like Pigeon Point to be able to stop at and enjoy both the fresh air and the views. As others have commented on, you can not gain access to the lighthouse and that really is a shame and I like many others hope... More

This is a very nice place. BUT you can't go inside of the lighthouse since 2001. They are trying to raise money to fix it up though. We went on a day that kept going back and forth between sunny and cloudy. But it was still a great day. The rangers tell you about the lighthouse in the house next... More

We were there in early Jan, 2015, saw the most romantic and stunningly beautiful sunset over the Pacific coast there. Get there 30 min before sunset to find the perfect spot, and should always bring a jacket/coat even in the summer because it could get quite chilly during and after sunset

We pulled off the highway in a last minute, spur of the moment decision and visited the lighthouse. I was mainly interested in checking out the amazing location of the HI Hostel, but ended up being really interested in the lighthouse. One of the Park employees called us over and took us into the building where the stunning lens was... More

This section of coastline is just an amazingly beautiful place. Tips: make sure to take your time, stop your car and walk around, don't just drive through. Bring a light jacket so you can be comfortable in the coastal breeze snuggling with your lover while you take it all in. Bring some binoculars so you can get a better look... More

Beautiful at sunrise, sunset and all times in-between. Great little beach just to the South. If the lighthouse wasn't in such disrepair, it, too, would be in comportment with the stunning beauty of the area.

This is such a beautiful lighthouse. The scenery around it is magnificent! We arrived a little late but made our way through the gift shop and were treated so nice. Julie and Karen were so kind. Julie thanks for your special extra time sharing some great history to my friend and I. You were so gracious with your time. I... More

Very nice lighthouse. The views from around this property are really nice and there is a Hostel here as well. The lighthouse is closed so you cannot go inside but they are trying to raise enough money to perhaps open it up again one day. There is a little gift shop and a wooden walkway past the gift shop out... More

This light house is majestic but it needs help. The lighthouse is classic in design and would be a great place to visit if you could actually climb the stairs and take a look down the coast. One of the volunteer workers told me they stopped tours in the lighthouse because large portions of the building were falling off causing... More
