Fun Course!

We started our 2 round trip here before we played PB. This is a great course. The greens are outstanding and the help of a caddie is a must.

I play off 11 so believe me this is a very challenging course, it was windy, which made it more difficult. Found the greens hard to judge. Course in excellent condition, some long hitting fairways, lots of bunkers, but very enjoyable, it is more difficult than Pebble Beach.

We played this after Pebble - I've heard great things about Spyglass, but maybe we should have played it before Pebble. I heard it was tougher than Pebble but both of us played 4-6 strokes better at Spyglass (maybe we were taking our eye off the ball at Pebble) Rangers are a bit obnoxious - we played a 4:40 round... One of the best courses in America. The first 5 holes are along the coast and the rest of the holes weave through the forest. Great challenge. Take a cart or use a caddy. Wonderful staff everywhere you turn. An unforgettable golfing experience.

Spyglass was my warm up for Pebble Beach and proved to be a great golf experience. The course was challenging, combining the coastal and forest experience. The condition of the course was meticulous, the weather incredible and play moved quickly. Deer were abundant on the course and could only add to the great feel of the course. If given the... More

A lot of people say that the golfing at Spyglass is better than Pebble Beach. I disagree. Sure, golfing at Spyglass is still great, course in great condition, tight fairways, challenging carries. Service is good, but just not quite the same as Pebble Beach. But outside of the first 4 holes where you have only a view of the ocean,... More

So, after playing Pebble Beach the day before, this was a tough act to follow. Obviously, you don't get the same majestic views at Spyglass but some holes are stunning nonetheless. The conditioning is what makes this course so amazing. The layout is challenging and the trees are breathtaking. I can see why Spyglass is ranked #2 only behind Pebble.... More

Challenging Golf Course with great views of the ocean for a few holes. Lots of deer grazing on the course make a nice curiosity. Played in winter so the grass was heavy and greens a little slow. Enjoyed all the fluffy white sand in the bunkers. Great staff and Course Marshall a delight.

So look @ my review of Pebble Beach and you'll see why my title makes sense. If you've got a corporate expense account (does anyone have these any more?) or you happen to be flush (like the plastic surgeon I was paired with, or the fellow that owned multiple gyms) then play early and play often! If you're a midwestern... More

Spyglass Hill is a nice golf course, but I found the holes somewhat "gimmicky" and not always fair. It's very pretty, like the rest of the Monterrey peninsula, but given the buildup it had in my mind, I was a little disappointed.
