During a recent wine tasting trip to the Paso Robles area, we visited Tablas Creek Vineyard. You will notice a few nice touches at this winery that you won’t experience elsewhere. For example, there are metal flasks of chilled water sitting in a large vat that you can consume should you choose to picnic there or just sit out on... More

This was another vineyard that was on our list to visit and it did not disappoint. Tablas is a bit different in they specialize in French varietals. Now I understand all the accolades French wine receive. The problem is, you have to go to France to get their good stuff. Tablas has solved that problem. The grounds and building are... More

One of the last stops on our trip, Tablas Creek was a world apart from our first stop at Tobin James. Small tasting counters avoid the feel of bellying up to the bar. Our server had extensive knowledge of the history of the company and provided insight into the French-style wines they produce. Wines were very good. Tasteful decor/kitchen-type items... More

This is an amazing winery experience. They are truly practicing sustainable winemaking, and even have things in place in their tasting room that help spread their concept to everyone. Aluminum water canisters rather than plastic water bottles, low-e lighting, they are doing things right, and their wine is incredible!

Our visit to Tablas Creek was amazing from the beginning to the end. We picked up a canteen of water that the vineyard provided for use during wine tasting and that was available for purchase. We were attracted to this winery because it is farmed organically. They utilize Biodynamic techniques such as using sheep and alpacas to help with their... More

Great Rhone style wines. On the foggy side of the 101. Nice, secluded location. Difficult to find, but worth the effort.

We came after recommendation from Justin on some of the best wines in Paso Robles. There is a reason why they win awards. Wines are excellent quality and affordable. We shared a $10 tasting and they let us try wines not on the tasting list. They are down to earth and share history of the Rhone varietal which they started... More

This is one of the most interesting winery tours you'll ever make. You really learn some history about California wine making from a pioneering winery. Don't just visit the winery.Take the tour! If you like Rhone style wines this is a must see and experience. And I recommend the reserve tasting.

Tablas Creek winery has a terrific assortment of French style Rhone wines, showing their influence from their partner winery in France. Our "pourer" was very knowledge of the wines she served and the processes they go through. There is a $10 tasting fee for 5 wines butit is waived with any purchase. The also offer a variety of other gifts... More

Server was honest, knowledgeable and informative about the region, wines and winery. She gave us the run down on past years of success and the years when the winery had to look elsewhere for fruit. Bottom-line it is going to more than a wet growing season to keep this winery from making great wines.
